I think it would be much better to have a true Champions league - ie only champions and a proper league - no knock out phase. Then have a European cup for the rest. It would mean a quality league with exciting games with big team and smaller ones, and a cup with big teams aswell. Also both would make lots of money for the organisers!

The way football is run in this era means that the big boys can stay as the big boys.
The governing bodies have ensured that we now have a monopoly of clubs who won't be budged.

That's why Liverpools success in the 70s and 80s will always hold more honour than anything in this age of moneymen and backhanders

They are thinking of ditching the EL and extending the CL, meaning 7 spaces for the EPL. I think this is great news!

Taggs - I know this, hence my post! I think it's an awful idea - further degrading the 'Champions League' and removing the chance for some smaller teams to win in Europe!
