Brendan Rodgers

Starting to lose faith in him. Choosing to play downing and Henderson has backfired with both at fault for the goals and Henderson missing a sitter to get back in the game.

FSB, it cannot be denied that, in the course of his management and their ownership, both Brendan and FSG have made glaring mistakes. To their credit, they have admitted that. On of their mistakes was to throw money at Commolli who, it turn, threw it away. At present, and for a considerable time in the future, there wont be another £70M+ to see who we can buy. That expenditure, and resultant loss must have hit them hard. We have who we have as manager and owner, neither is going to change in the foreseeable future, other mistakes will be made and in the meantime, I will continue to support my club. And that says it all for me. JimmyTheRed

Jimmy, We all make mistakes and that certainly includes FSG and BR. Hopefully they have learnt from their mistakes and we can build for the future. My main concern is the owners. They are new to the game and I think it's fair to say that they still have a lot to learn. I just hope they can appreciate that BR has got us playing decent football despite results not going our way. Will their lack of knowledge lead them to place too much emphasis on our league position. In my view sacking Kenny after what was a relatively successful season (8th and 2 cup finals is far better than we'll achieve this season) casts doubt on their judgement. As I said, I hope they've learnt some lessons.

FSB, a few observations. Yes, FSB are new, but not to the world of finance and profit. They way they may see themselves as being ripped of by the Geordies must have hurt, and hopefully so. They know that they are in for the long haul, no instant high-purchase success here. Also, I am sure they they don't have anything like the same expectations this season as last. Provided BR can show where they are headed, Henry will buy in to that. KD? The longer I think about it, the more I support their decision. KD was never, ever in their view, a long term solution, and that had been publicised, long before he got the bullet. JimmyTheRed

Jimmy, I still believe it was a big mistake to sack Kenny which goes some way to explaining why you're happy with the owners and I'm still not convinced that they really know what they are doing.

I agree that they didn't want Kenny. They obviously wanted a young 'talented' manager from the start. I have doubts about whether this is the best way to go. I would have preferred a manager with more experience. Likewise I'm not too impressed with their apparent desire to concentrate on bringing in younger, cheaper players with potential.

Let's just hope that you're view of the owners and their relationship with, and faith in, BR is right and I'm wrong.

So that had no faith in a guy, gave him (and commolli) lots of money, he got 8th and two finals, sacked him, got the guy they wanted, didn't back him and now, after 15 games, if we lose to Southampton then we're in the drop zone.

Not very bright is it. I don't buy into this they need to learn the game stuff either.

Are you mad. They spent £400m on something they don't know about. Again - none too bright.

I'm confused. You don't think they're doing a good job but you don't think they've got anything to learn.

I'm saying ignorance is not an excuse and I'm not having it that they need to learn the job.

I don't think they are doing a terrible job. It's littered with mistakes. Glaring mistakes at that. If they don't know the stuff that we do then I will happily work for them.

Please near in mind Robbing, that both our manager and owners are relatively new to the PL. BR as been at Swansea, accepted, but, LFC is a whole new world. We are headed in the right direction, it will take time, but we will get there. JimmyTheRed

I've said all along that I'd take a slump in form if it meant implementing BR's possession-based style.

Results have been pretty awful, but we're putting in some very good performances. We're tough to beat and we're dominating, which is a pretty good starting point.

We need to tweak our attack to get an extra body forward as well as obviously start converting more chances; getting more forward will be tricky without Lucas because our midfield is struggling defensively with the balance between pressing and positioning.

I think we're doing okay, it's just that when you're as short as we are up front, it can take a real toll on results (particularly when our midfield is so short on defensive cover at the minute).

Short term, I'm hoping Lucas coming back will boost our capacity to win games by freeing up other midfielders and offering more protection, whereas long term BR can hopefully make us more cohesive as he trims the squad of the players who can't adapt to his style and brings in players who can.
