A reason to be positive about Dave Jones

The reason we should be positive about MM continuing with Dave Jones as 'manager' of this 'team' is that it assures me that MM is unwilling to fire a manager without a capable replacement lined up.

How many times have we seen the manager fired to spend the next 2 weeks with a caretaker boss while the board play ini mini miny mo with the football managers unemployment line trying to find the next numpty destined for failure?

At least this way we know that MM is thinking forward, rather than acting in the heat of the moment without a plan of action.

When he gets his man, its bye bye jonesy. Unless with win at Cardiff

If we win at Cardiff against Jones' former club it would be a relief for the three points, but would give me a feeling akin to watching my worst enemy drive of a cliff in my brand new Aston Martin. Mixed feelings. It won't happen though.

Ridiculous

I would have no mixed emotions about a win in Cardiff. I'd be absolutely delighted. We need points. We are in, as someone nicely coined earlier in the week, "stone cold relegation form".

DJ or otherwise I have a feeling survivial will be by the skin of our teeth, if we do manage it.

Fair play Diceman,

In mitigation; I always want the three points naturally. If DJ could get us three points from each of the next 15 matches then I'd be happy for him to stay.

Sadly, Cardiff will do us no favours on Saturday and we'll get humped by them.

UTO
WAWAW?

Jones will go, the only thing a win would do is to stay his execution for another week or so - hence the mixed feelings.

We are all Wednesday

Apart from maybe DJ. He doesn't seem to be able to motivate the players at all, or have any sense of urgency. Just feeling sorry for himself.

I guess your comment was a bit tongue in cheek anyway, but it probably doesn't matter as I'm sure the only thing keeping DJ in a job is the lack of alternatives. If we win 10-0 at Cardiff and the right replacement is available Monday morning, MM will get shot.

He didn't think twice about the timing of replacing Megson.

I agree Diceman

Like I said in my article (the one no-ones noticed as of yet) that sacking DJ then lookin round for a few weeks for the next available manager wont work if the ones available are not any better. MM is right to wait for the right one in these circumtances, but at the same time I hope it's not a long wait, esp if we keep losing!

Gary Neville anyone?

Hmm..intresting!! He talks a good game and I do like him, but would he make a good manager? I think he would, he seems a good coach and has the respect of the players in the England set up, maybe it would work! But good coaches dont always make good managers...you ask Father Ted!
