What do we make of the news in the bild about the £30m release clause inserted into Mario's new contract?

Several sources have mentioned a bid rejected by Dortmund last year of £32m from arsenal. Surely if we were willing to pay so much (although it could have been smoke and mirrors so the board can make us think at least they are trying) then we'd go back in the knowledge that our original bid would be enough to potentially sign the wonderkid?

The clause runs out in April though, so do we see a January bid put forward?
