Exactly as I predicted....

Having stayed away for so many games due to injury, I felt Broad should've been rested;but I knew the England selectors will always pick their blue-eyed boy.
Overcast conditions, ball seaming around - Broad bowls 10 wicketless overs for 40 runs. Waste of space, really. Shahzad or Finn should've been picked. BTW, I expect KP also to fail... England should've asked KP to impress for a few months in the counties before picking him on form... shame on the selectors; do you agree?
Rubbish Broad wastes the new ball....

Playing in May in damp, overcast conditions.
Could Sidebottom not have been brought out of international retirement? Broad, Tremlett & Finn are not bowlers for these conditions.

Anderson wasted the ball full stop the entire World Cup. All bowlers have poor games. Besides, pitch isn't exactly one with bounce, is it?

Plus the BBC should never have picked Michael Vaughan for TMS comm-box duties! Absolute disgrace.

If swamy played 'just a minute' he would be called constantly for repetition. 1 star is too good for this.

"Shahzad or Finn should've been picked"
Agreed. Shahzad, if it were up to me.
Broad has wasted more than the new ball - a referral too. Idiotic on the part of Strauss to agree to refer that.

Shazad is still short of being an international cricketer, however he is a player with loads of potential but i wouldnt have him taking the new ball against a quality batting line - up like the sri lankans have.
Broad is coming back from a long injury and a abdominal injury is especially difficult for a bowler to come back from, given a few games he'll be bowling better. Having said that getting the foot holes repaired is both annoying and pointless as is not appealing to the umpire to me its arrogant and unlikely to help him get decisions in his favour

I'd have had Finn in the team ahead of Broad, and I'd have thought that would have been a no-brainer. Never mind.

Shazad is not an International Cricketer plus Broad has been playing well for Lancashire...the reason why its been terrible is that some stupid pillocks at the ECB picked Cardiff for the 1st Test in May.....why???
