Left back

Tsepo Masilela has been linked with us, not sure how reliable this source is.

We're being linked with some interesting continental players, Steve's time aboard could really be a big benefit.

Looks fast, composed and strong - has a wealth of experience, played against some of the best teams in the world both for club and country - how much is the asking price ? does anyone know ?

I was genuinely disappointed in Konchesky last season, although every Forest fan would rather have Konchesky than no left back I don't think many wanted him back.

We could soon see ourselves in a situation where beggars can't be choosers though.

I wouldn't. I don't rate Lynch by any means but would have him ahead of Konchesky any day. He's the prime example of a player who rose to a level higher than his ability warranted by working hard and being physically gifted. He's a tryer, he doesn't shirk tackles, he's fast and strong and can put in a decent cross. On the down side he gave the ball away worse than anyone I've seen for a long time and often put us in trouble. He also got a stupid red at a stupid time late in the season.

I heard that Tsepo Masilela didn't sign for leicester because he couldn't pass the medical (knee injury?)

Not sure if this is 100% true but just a warning!

I heard he was never going to Leicester, the agent just talked it up.

Who is talking it up this time?

Guess we will end up with him.

sign him up.

If the signing of Boateng is any indication we should start the process now and maybe Masilela will be an official member of the squad sometime just before the January transfer window opens.

I'm pleased we didn't sign Konchesky. For someone with his level of experience, he was out of position so regularly it was untrue.

My first choice LB would still be Shorey, but I'm enough of a realist to know that's probably not going to happen.
