Christmas period is very tough

Look at our next 5 league games over the Christmas period:

Everton V Tottenham

Tottenham V Swansea

Tottenham V Stoke

Aston Villa V Tottenham

Sunderland V Tottenham

Interesting set of fixtures - no 'Class A' competition (the traditional top 4) but not a single 'minnow' or 'easier' game either. Even the lesser sides amongst those (Villa and Sunderland) are tough away games.

Next 3 opponents - Everton, Swansea and Stokes .

Do this well and we could be looking at a serious top 3 challenge again this year. Have a lean and not so merry Christmas and Arsenal could be 4 or so points ahead of us by the start of January

Didn't we all go into the Everton game quite confident last year and then lost it?

-----

no.

the two games before everton we had lost 5-2 to arsenal and then 3-1 at home to man u.

it was the start of our horrible run

We should look at improving on what we did last season at the same fixtures.

Last season:

Everton V Tottenham - 0 points

Tottenham V Swansea - 3 points

Tottenham V Stoke - 1 point

Aston Villa V Tottenham - 1 point

Sunderland V Tottenham - 1 point

I would take 9 points, and looking at those fixtures that's what I'd expect too.

Everton & Swansea could be tuffies, but you should be looking to win the rest with ease!

that's about as easy a 5 game stretch as you'll find.

No, not all easy matches but there aren't any of the top sides in there.

None of those fixtures are easy but let's be onest.....we should have enough in our locker to get 6 points at home to Swansea and Stoke especially as we have looked to have recently finally improved our home form. The Everton game is the one i'm worried about and i think we won't get anything from there ......draw would be awesome

8-10 points is about par, but 10pts should be the minimum target.

Home form is key - we need to win both back-to-back games again. West Ham was the first good home performance and Liverpool could have been better so there's work to be done

You expecting a win Alas

I'm probably as about as optimistic as you lot. We could get a win if we turn up,but if we play like we did against Norwich, then we'll get turned over. Mirallas would be a big plus tho.
