So how many of you forest, want Billy back

and WHY????

I can not believe how many Forest fans are wanting him back

Surely to god, you can see why NO club has wanted him since he left forest

He is a liability to any club.

Davies was backed by £20m, Jewell given January & the summer, basically the second parachute payment (£10m) plus money generated from the sale of Davies's players.

Hindsight's easy, but the club was in turmoil after relegation, there were too many freebies (Jordan Stewart), average players, & loans that didn't work out & players who joined with the wrong attitude (Sterjovski).

I don't attach blame to one individual rather it was a catalogue of one mistake heaped upon another, but it began with Davies' awful buys. It even began before that with Davies & Mike Horton falling out over the promotion bonuses given to our new January signings.

Esp the gulf between the two top tiers. Swansea have bridged it by having a particular style. It's almost as if you have to build one type of team to get out of the Championship , say the team spirit of QPR with Derry, Hill etc or our own play-off team, & then dismantle it/totally overhaul it to survive in the PL (your point about a whole new squad).

Seriously why do some of you listen to Derby fans? They are hardly going to say, "yes please get Billy back, the guy who took your team from relegation to 2 playoffs and got your team to beat us back to back." Of course there not, even if someone went back in time and brought BC back to the City Ground you don't think they would be cheering us on do you?

I don't listen to the Derby fans.
I have my own mind and I really do not think a 2nd stint at a job that is completely different to the job he came to do before should be offered to him.

Here is one reason that backs this up that doesn't highlight my dislike of the man:
The owners believe in producing young talent from the academy, bringing them through the reserves and making them a first team player. This is totally against what BD wants at a football club. Most chairmen are staying well clear as they see the future of their club depends on youth being developed through a system alien to what BD has ever preached.

feel free to disagree

SBS I think your love of the dwarf has clouded your view. Derby fans are giving their opinion on him. I don't think they would be too bothered if he went back or not. You are also implying your fellow fans are stupid enough to be sucked in to believing what Derby fans are saying and cant think for themselves.

Personlly I would love you to get the him back. He suited forest in the same way Warnock suits Leeds.

It also made beating you even more satisfying

This is what I don't get, people say Billy is against young talent solely for the reason that he got rid of Pembo when he started his own stint to bring in his own backroom staff. When you look at the managers we have had since, none of them have played more youth players then Billy did in fact most of them played less. I mean when Billy was manager I can remember seeing Maloney starting his first game, Freeman, Darlow and a few others playing for the first team even if it was in a cup. people seem to forget this though and only point at the fact that Pembo left that he was against the youth development. When you look at it objectively Billy was the last manager since Hart at least who actually played youth players even if it was just intermittently as even with SOD now, we have seen no greater influx of youth players.

Mostly, as a Derby fan I wish Forest well. Not against us of course. But there is a very solid link between Derby and Forest in the name of Clough. Our greatest manager moved there because of the stupidity of our directors. And our current manager did a lot of his playing there. That's why I never want to see them relegated. i don't want to see them promoted either. Just to languish a few points adfrift of DCFC.

But in moments when I wish them to suffer a bit, I would like to see Billy back at the CG. Some Forest fans would deserve such a fate just to experience the moaning again about the owners and their denial of him making Stellar signings as he once did. These Forest fans don't seem to realise the hurt he caused to ND when he was alive. All he wanted was to have another person to blame for his failings as a manager. He was OK for a while until his construction of scapegoats in his set up. He wanted the credit for success but never the blame for failure. As soon as his players saw that their team spirit disappeared and his team started to fail. From then it was a vicious circle.
