Why change is needed

Great post by LeGrove this morning, it's a bit long but definitely worth the read.

Serial is back

Alright, I'm trying to read it, but I'm already annoyed at it.

He first starts off by saying "he understood the importance of fitness and technical ability. He changed the regime at Arsenal, he stopped alcoholics drinking", so really is saying he changed the way fitness was developed and understood at least at Arsenal, more likely in England as a whole. He then goes on to say Arsene is just living off a gut feeling about Arteta's fitness, completely ignoring the fact he just said Arsene was the one to focus so much on the fitness of his players and the technology to monitor it.

He also states that the problem with Wenger is that he has never changed his ways of playing, which is fine, it's a valid criticism, except he praises Swansea who are doing exactly the same thing. Their whole philosophy is based off this idea that they should stick to passing game.

This is what really annoyed me though. "Is Arsene working on a plan to stop this killing our flow? Very doubtful."

So instead of just saying that Wenger is trying to change it, but isn't doing well, he's stating, with no evidence or anything apart from his "gut feeling", that Wenger has just stopped bothering trying to work to change the streak of the club, and that he's some sort of man who doesn't care about seeing Arsenal fail. Fantastic.

Wenger implemented those methods 16 years ago and rest of the teams have not only caught up to us but have gone far ahead while Wenger has stood still.

Neither do Barca but atleast they have perfected their Plan A whereas we still don't know what our plan really is. Our we hoofing the ball up to Giroud or are we playing a free flowing passing game because neither seems to be working so far.
