It's that time of year again, Levy's making a list and checking it twice....
Our NEW STRIKER seems destined to stay in Brazil until 2014, go to Juve for the prestige or Chelsea for the money.. while we're likely to sit on our hands according to AVB.
“I don’t think we need the window, to be fair.
“We have three top players coming back that played most games last season – Younes Kaboul, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Scott Parker. These will be major additions.
“Even if Ade disappears, we will miss him for some fixtures but Dempsey can play there as a striker."
--
With Ade staying and Defoe's form I think we can safely say if anyone does come in it won't be a striker. All of our would be targets are CL players.. even if we could convince them to sign they'd be cup tied for the Europa.
This means promoting the youth and we've seen already that we'll mix it up. Young Carroll is far from the finished article but is not afraid to play, Caulker has played his way into the first team and the defence looks worse without him in it.
The young players must be buzzing, knowing that they will get a chance and if they do a well they'll play again. Last season we saw a youth/b team in the cups and I've got to say I don't think it helped anyone.
Carroll is going to learn nothing from Livermore he doesn't already, it's all about mixing that youth with experience.
Well I've waffled on long enough.. do you think we'll sign anyone regardless of what AVB says?
Quiet window ahead

If I had a choice it would be for a classy midfield general to go alongside Dembele & Sandro/Parker.
This would drop Dempsey to the bench & give us more flexibility as a team with added advantage of a Modric type influence in the middle.
Other than that with players coming back I am not too sure we need strengthening until the summer.

Harry's car windows need to be super glued.
You can bet your bottom dollar that he mentions at least one spurs player and how he is good lad and great player and would love to have him etc.

We'll go for a back up lb to cover and compete with BAE. I cant see avb being very happy about being forced to play his best currently fit cb as a lb.
Other than that I expect little activity, maybe pjanic for the attacking midfielder spot. Personally i would like us.to go for a back up winger who can play left and right wing as cover for lennon and bale

What are Falque and Townsend supposed to be then ??
They are not CM playmakers.
One more competent CM (cannot wait around for Hudd and Carroll) and LB is a must.
