A friend of mine works at the library at Lords and is involved with a project cataloguing old cricket annuals and running this website and blog. Thought maybe some of you cricket fans could check it out and Like it on Facebook/Twitter etc. You should find it fascinating.

cheers. i'll take a look at that Kitty.
I used to have every edition of The Cricketer from 1988 to around 1995.
I've lost them now though

I think the annuals in question are a bit older than that tbh - more historic I think.

oh, right.
It looks like you mean "annals" then rather than "annuals".
Btw, 7 years of Cricketer magazines dating back over 2 decades, would be a collection which would hold a lot of interest for any cricket fan

Taking the Field is an oral history project about grass-roots cricket. My other duties at Lord’s largely involve cataloguing lots of cricket annuals.
======================
This says that she has 2 duties :
1. involvement with catologuing an oral record of the history of the game.
2. catologuing annuals.
There is nothing there which suggests that the annuals are related to any particular time period.
The chances are that the annuals in question are copies of Wisden, which may relate to the current date or to any period over the last 150 years or so.
It would seem likely that cataloguing annuals is only a small part of her job, as I find it difficult to imagine that there are sufficient annuals produced to take up any significant amount of time in catologuing, unless there are several duplicates of each annual.
Btw, if I had the choice of looking at 150 years of Wisdens or 7 years of Cricketers from 20 odd years ago, I'd choose the Cricketers personally.

What do I know? Just trying to do a friend a favour, to get more people to look at the site. I agree that any old stuff can be dry and dusty <don't mean me btw>.
