We are in danger of drawing this match - due to plumb decisions not being given & the chance to appeal them not being available
Why oh why....disgraceful

Neon, please tell the Indian cricket authorities their petulant Luddite resistance to technology is embarrassing you

Crazy4Cric exactly my point why not get rid of all the fuss and just havethe correct decisions given
----------
Thing is Hawkeye or whatever its call is not 100% accurate.
Personally i would have it but the Indians feel that there is a element of doubt with that part of technology which u can understand.

But the technology is still more advanced than the umpires eye, the thing with lbw is you can never be 100% certain the ball will hit the stumps but the DRS is still more accurate than the human eye!

i agree it is not 100 pct accurate but it is about 98 pct accurate as opposed to umpires who are about 87 pct accurate

Obviously hawkeye can not be 100% accurate, but that's why the umpire's call ruling is in place meaning that over half the ball has to be shown hitting or missing the stumps for an lbw to be overturned. This is why it makes no sense objecting to it on those grounds.

Hawkeye has come a long way since it was first introduced.
I remember see it a while ago and they would only show some LBW decisions and not others using Hawkeye. I could not understand why.
Then there was an incident of Kumble getting someone out LBW off almost a yorker length delivery. The tv channel did not show hawkeye on it, but Laxman Shiv Rama Krishan (the commentator) insisted that hawkeye be shown. When hawkeye was finally shawn, it showed the ball going over the stumps in an unrealistic terjectory.
BUT at this point in time, hawkeye is much better than then naked eye. It makes no sense to object to its accurecy, since "over half of the ball" in the opposite derection is required to overturn an umpires decision.
Technology is the way forward. Sooner or later everyone will embrace it. And one more thing if I may, BCCI does NOT represent an average Indian cricket fan's views, we want DRS with all the bells and whistles.

It is better than the umpires - and it cannot be biased.

It's this sort of attitude that needs to be stamped out. Absolute nonsense.
This technology can deliver missiles thousands of miles to targets, accurate within a few feet. Calculating the path of the ball 18 inches when they know the exact velocity, bounce, swing, seam etc up to the point of impact is not a difficult task.
Even if it's not 100%, with the rather generous margin of error in DRS, it cuts out the shockers. And boy was there a couple of shockers today.
