No, this isnt the "HA SOD WON SO ALL POSITIVE OPINION ARE ALL FACT FOR A WEEK" thread, that pop up all over the internet, and visa virsa with "SOD OUT" and "is he the right man for the job" threads if we lose.
Question is everyone happy with where we are at present? Not how were playing, how many goals were scoring/conceding etc. just purely materialistic - points and places.
The league obviously is quite open, all 3 relegated to and all 3 teams promoted to the championship are in the bottom half. 2 wins are all the difference between play offs and 17th and even the teams at the top of the table are nothing special and depending on janurary sales are unlikely to get much better. With that in mind, were 1 point off the playoffs.
So what are peoples thoughts? No run aways so should we have put our stamp on it with the money we've put in, or to say with the changes we've had are we doing well?
Personally, with all the changes, injuries, and preseason we've missed, to say we're doing better than teams like blackburn and blackpool, i cant complain. And to say we are starting to put forward a vaguely consistent 11, with influential players recovering, hitting the bench, and janurary reinforcements just round the corner i think we'll hit form come new years.
Thoughts?
Happy?

Happy? Yes. Just what I expected. I feel very positive.

I'm more than happy, especially when you factor everything in,no real pre-season,whole new back 4 etc etc etc.
I expected us to lose more games than we did over the first 10-15 games, whilst the team gelled.
I never expected the league to be as tight as it is this season,I expected better from the prem relegated teams and some of the stronger championship teams.
Some fans feel we should be doing better due to the quality of some of our signings, they don't seem to factor in that some joined us after the season started, some have never really featured due to injury,Geddy never really got into his stride and has missed games due to red cards.
Some fans need to look at the bigger picture and take everything into account before they start to get negative.
Before the season started, most fans would have settled for a comfortable top half finish and signs that the team could improve beyond that.

I felt more content after SoD's BBC interview than by Saturdays performance. We know our current squad isn't strong enough in certain areas and I was happy to hear SoD admit as much. At least he's not pretending that we're something we're not. I do think that he got it wrong against Hull, however, I can understand why he opted for the negative tactics given his obvious awareness of our weaknesses. Here's hoping he's able to address these areas in January.

The way the whole club is being run is a breath of fresh air, from the youth teams right up to the board. We're very much still a work in progress however, so to be knocking on the play offs door is fantastic!

We are exactly where we should be. Keeping the play off pack in sight coming into January.
If we have another influx of players, continue to build the squad whilst selling out of contract players / tieing them down to new deals and continuing as we are until the end of the season. I'd expect us to finish just outside the play offs but in the top 10.
If that happens, then maybe buy 1 or 2 more players in the summer and push next year. Whilst I wouldn't say no to being promoted, I certainly don't expect to be in the play offs this season, but I do not want to be too far outside.

Agree with that Rev. If only we'd signed him years ago when we first tried instead of relying on players like Tyson, McGoldrick, Agogo etc.

I disagree Rev, Sharp will sign based on current form. We don't need to get promoted or be in the play offs to sign him.

I'm not so sure about that. He may not be Prem quality but at this level there are very few better goal-scorers. If we remain at midtable club then he will definitely go somewhere else unless we are paying the most and he's only motivated by money.
