Liverpool came away from Upton Park with all three points on Sunday evening following a pulsating encounter with West Ham United.
It was Liverpool who made the better start and took the lead with just 11 minutes gone, when former West Ham player Glen Johnson cut in from the right and unleashed a brilliant shot into the top left corner.
But West Ham quickly came back into the match and were gifted a chance to equalise on 36 minutes when Joe Allen was harshly penalised for handball following a Guy Demel shot, and Mark Noble converted the resulting penalty.
Just seven minutes later, the Hammers were in front with the goal coming from the most unlikely of sources. Matt Jarvis swung the ball in from the left and Steven Gerrard inadvertently headed it into his own net.
The second half was mostly similar to the first, with West Ham looking more likely to add to their tally, rather than concede an equaliser. Mohamed Diame was instrumental in midfield for the Hammers, but an injury to him coincided with a quick turnaround by Liverpool, which seemed incredibly unlikely with the absence of talisman Luis Suarez.
Firstly, Raheem Sterling fed a ball through to another ex-Hammer in Joe Cole, and he slotted it into the bottom right corner. And just three minutes later, Jordan Henderson crossed it in and James Collins, trying to clear it away from yet another ex-Hammer in Jonjo Shelvey, only managed to loop it into his own net.
West Ham tried to find an equaliser in the closing stages but Liverpool held out comfortably for the win which lifts them into the top half for the first time this season, just four points from fourth spot.

Number 21, I will even say Hendo did well when he came on.

But will you say Henderson still has a chance of making it at us?

Thanks for the match thread, FBK! Much appreciated.

I wouldn't go as far as that, but if he can string a few more performances like that together then he may prove me wrong.
Thanks FBK

Of course. As he gains confidence he will improve.
He's too tentative, but technically he's a good player, with a great engine and good pace.

Just to confirm, I am one of those members who have backed Hendo all the way, and am talking to Aggers who claimed Hendo will never make it at us, I am not questioning Henderson
