i think this may be the most UNDERrated goal in history!

I think if you try and hit the ball with your foot and miss it by a good 8-12 inches and it luckily catches your shin right, then it shouldn't be on any best of list.

Rvp had a similar one years ago.

Thunderkiss, Mexes' was overrated imo - I thought he botched it technically and was lucky it did exactly what was needed to beat the keeper. If you watch it, you'll notice how he didn't get enough height on his jump (compare to Rivaldo's famous overhead kick vs Valencia) and didn't make proper contact with his instep. Also, if you look at the keeper's position, he was barely a yard off his line. Imo there's no way Mexes could've intended to perfectly lob a keeper standing so close to his line.

at the end of the day, 'the best' goals are only considered for players at top clubs.

there's almost always a better one of an identical type but it's by an unfashionable player at an unfashionable club.
