Our reserves/U18s etc....??

Are there any of our young players of outstanding ability that excite you and could be the next big thing at OT ?? Having lost Morrison and Pogba who were cited as outstanding talents, the former being the best since Scholesy I was just wondering if we have anyone destined for the big time now. Sure the Keane brothers,Wooton,Brady,King,Cole,Petrucci,Tunnicliffe,Daelhi etc are good players but anyone destined for stardom ???

I watch the academy all the time and id go with those three too but id say Januzaj is the one with most potential such an elegant player already the way he moves with the ball is a great sight to watch. Jack Barmby and Daehli have impressed me a lot too. So a lot of exciting prospects i just hope the have the right attitude.

Would be great to bring through a goalscorer. Wilson has notched quite a few!

Whilst we have some very good youngsters in the reserves and youth team, I try not to get too excited by any of them because I know the chances of someone from our reserve or youth team actually breaking into the first team and becoming a regular starter or even a squad player are very slim.

It's far too early to say with any certainty whether any of our academy players will make it at the club. We have to first see how they handle the step up from U18 level to U21 level which is a big step in itself nevermind from U21 level to the first team.

One type of player I would like to see more of is a natural winger. Apart from Robbie Brady really, there's a shortage of proper wide players in the youth ranks. Kenji Gorre is the only traditional winger at U18 level.

Jack Barmby did not impress me at all on Friday at Old Trafford against Burnley. He was very ball greedy at times and failed to acknowledge the overlap of Love who btw had a great game and does consistently well for the U18s a number of times and tried to do it all by himself.

The most impressive player I thought on the night was Ben Pearson who stands out almost every time I watch him. He's one to watch closely at U18 level.

Jack Barmby and Pearson look good prospects.

Pearson particularly, whilst he isn't flashy or a show boater, he seems to have a great understanding of the game as well as a good engine.
