Change the league structure to
Premier Division - 15 Teams
(No half term break with teams playing each other home
and away)
28 Games
3 Teams Relegated
Second Division - 15 Teams
(No half term break with teams playing each other home and away)
28 Games
3 Teams Promoted
2 Teams Relegated to regional leagues
Scrap the League cup as it offers nothing to the winner (ie no Euro place)
Re-organise the FA cup along the lines of the European Chamions league competition
There should be 8 groups of 5 with a total of 40 teams. Each team entered into the cup should be seeded according to their league finishing position the previous season or possibly a continous co-efficient based on the previous 5 years performance.
A qualifying competition for the smaller teams to enter the FA cup can fill the remaining spots
Teams play each other home & away. 8 Games
All teams will have played 34 games by this time in teh competiton.
The top 2 in each group then move through to 4 groups of 4 and play each other home and away. 6 games (The bottom 3 could drop into a version of the league/Ramsdens cup as a consolation).
The top 2 in each group then move through to the last 8 where there is a knockout system in place to the final. The finalists will play an extra 3 games.
That makes it 45 games in the season for the most successful and also a lot more interest
Better than to daft split we have at the moment and what is being proposed
League reconstruction

I was thinking along the lines of having a National Youth training centre for players unattached to clubs. We already have a coaching centre why not have a youth one. Would take the cost off clubs training their own youth players.

If the player was sold on then a % of the transfer fee would be split between the club and the training centre. Would mean we could implement a certain style of football on a national scale. Focusing on better technique and passing of the ball rather than hoof ball.

how far down would they go though? The team that got relegated from the SPL? The team coming into the SPL? Or all the way down to division 3?
and would it work anyway? Because come the transfer window, they would get bought anyway. Unless they don't impress of course. There would probably need to be trades involved like they do over here. Either for players, for a player for a few draft picks of the next year..

I would imagine that the team(s) relegated get first pick then everyone else excluding the top 6 teams. A player trading system would be good for clubs who atm only offer contracts from 1-2 years.
Its a complex thing and I havent had a chance to map it all out yet

Just out of interest how well recieved is the draft system in the US? Do they like it or see it as a good thing?

Sorry Chuman, had to go earlier. But its mixed reviews i think but most people see it as a good thing. Every sport does it here so it must be well accepted by most of the people.
I don't think ive ever seen an argument against it

2 leagues of 15 and the rest drop down to regional leagues.
Does The League Cup bring in that much ? Would an added interest in a revamped FA cup not compensate for that
