Mayweather to fight twice in 2013.

May 5th 2012.That was the date we last saw Floyd Mayweather in the ring, since then he has been seeing out his jail term, and laying low. While he hasn't been gone a long time, the boxing world has missed the superstar, and 2013 will be the year we see Mayweather return.

His advisor leanoard ellerbe has said he will step in the ring twice in 2013.The actual dates have not yet been specified, but it is believed it will be during the two Mexican holiday weekends, may 4th and september 14th.

The two opponents he will face have also not yet been decided, but there have been strong links hat the two men could be,Canelo Alvarez and Robert Guerrero.

I think both can give Floyd a tough test.Canelo still untested, has a decent record, and Floyd isn't as quick as he used to be,so the power and hunger of Canelo could trouble him.Similarly, Guerrero is a high level boxer, many people don't know of him,but he holds a record of 31 wins,1 loss, and 1 draw, and he is just coming off a win over andre berto ,which was an epic fight. He also, could give Mayweather trouble.

Thoughts??

Whether you like FMJ or not when he fights the whole world watches. Record PPV deals, entertaining 24/7 on HBO and outstanding unbeaten record. After the doldrums of the heavyweight division FMJ in particular has put boxing on a new level.

I'd rather see Mayweather v Alvarez than Mayweather v Pac, Alvarez would provide him with a much tougher test than Pac would, Mayweather will still win but it will be close, points i reckon. Whereas i reckon he'd k.o pac in about 8 rounds now

I love Alvarez, but him taking on Mayweather would be a bad idea.

Mayweather will beat him with ease, Alvarez has such a static style of boxing, which means Mayweather would not even have to work as hard as he normally and brilliantly does to hit Alvarez, Alvarez would be a constant target for him.

Mayweather will easily sit back deflect blows while easily countering perfectly slowing Alvarez down round by round. In the end when Mayweather wins Alvarez will be branded a flop, his first big test and he failed it.

If I was Alvarez I'll see what kind of negotiations I can get done with Martinez. Yes he has excellent hand speed as well like Mayweather, but he is also a lot easier to hit and has been dropped quite a few times in his career. Plus he is coming back from a few injuries so that would definitely slow him down a tiny bit.
