As a Palace fan I've noticed that our match against Derby is on Friday 1st March but can't find that it is live on TV. Does anyone know why it is on Friday rather that Saturday?

Derby are running a trial scheme this season - I think there are approx 4 matches switched to a Friday night.

I think the idea of the trial is that we bring matches forward and hope the oppo don't notice, and still turn up on the original date.
If we start playing this one 24 hours before Palace, we might just sneak it 1-0.

Football is for 3:00pm on a Sat. Don't go changing history.
Friday is still a working day, people doing shifts etc. People also need to travel from the sticks and sometimes that means a two hour donkey ride just to get to a bus stop. Can't be done on a Friday night especially during tupping.
Mad cap, hair brained idea.

I seem to remember an interview with Nigel in the summer where he said it was something to do with giving players longer to rest before a Tuesday night game. Weren't games switches from Wednesday night to Tuesday night so the players would have longer to rest before a Saturday afternoon game?!

Thanks for that 'Marco IL Fantastico ツ'.
It sounds like you want the trial scheme to not work. Perhaps the Derby supporters can show what you think of it by holding some kind of protest by not going to the Palace match?

They do protest at every away game
