Basically the old story, Villa parked the buss, we couldn't break them with many chances, and they hit us with lucky breaks, which we defended poorly. Enrique sorely missed, Gerrard not good enough, Allen still off form. Suarez left isolated.

Far too sloppy in our passing and our defending. Villa have 10 behind the ball when they are defending and we only have our back four and then we get caught cold a number of times. The midfield are on walk about.

Gerrard is now at testimonial pace. Allen's form has deserted him even with Lucas alongside. The ball escapes Suarez more often than not and since we all saw Brendan bigging up Shelvey and saying he was going to score goals, he's looked very bad in front of goal.

We first need to be secure at the back before we can go forward. Perhaps the fear of not being able to score has led us be more attacking that we should and we are getting caught.
