What do you think of this phase? Appropriate? Gives too much respect to City? Disrespectful to rest of the league?

Yes, but how often do you hear Arsenal and Chelsea being called the London Clubs?
During a London derby? What a stupid question, Bolton and Wigan do not originate from Manchester so why would they be called the Manchester clubs?

London is a bit different as there are so many clubs.
It seems natural to lump City and United together giving that they're both from Manchester, have Manchester in their name, and are top two in the country at the moment.
Nothing disrespectful to anybody, I don't think.

"Yes, but how often do you hear Arsenal and Chelsea being called the London Clubs? And why aren't the other teams in Greater Manchester included? My question is more subtle than it appears."
And how many have Manchester in the title?

==========
All the time when Chelsea and Arsenal were the top two clubs in England for about 2.5/3 years running.
Much ado about nothing

Bolton, Oldham Wigan, Stocky, Rochdale United are as much Manchester clubs as Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, QpR, Fulham, WestHam etc are London clubs.
In fact City of London doesn't have any football clubs in it. City of Manchester has 1.

Bit confused on that RBW, care to elaborate?

No one in the City of London likes football.
They're a load of bankers.

City of London is one square mile in the middle. There a no football teams in City of London
Arsenal are of the Metropolitan Borough of Islington, Spurs are Harringay, Chelsea and Fulham are Kensington etc etc.
United are in Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, Bury are Met Borough of Bury, Oldham are Met Borough of Oldham etc etc...
Only City is in City of Manchester
