Well Chaps, The Advertiser is at it again and today our beloved, berated Canioman once more takes centre stage with articles all about his rants and raves. Since having a poke at virtually all the players blaming them after defeats, he sights are now firmly set on deposing Paul Bodin as youth manager. His digs at Paul started on his arrival at the club and behind the scenes have not stopped. Now its out in the open and this tirade has now gone on for a while. Surely something will have to give shortly. Will the board reign in Canioman,or will Bodin resign, or perhaps will the board just ask Canioman to leave. His latest rants would befit poor old Dave Such of the Monster Raving Loony Party, a nice guy so I'm told. It seems that Caniomans dictatorial politics are coming to a head, and with a lack of takers for his services knocking on our doors who would take him now, totally self obsessed. Seems a bigger shame considering what he has achieved in a short space of time and at last the team coming together and playing so well. Oldham were played off the park on Saturday, and had we had a scorer on the park it would have been massive. The rants surely now have to stop before too much damage is done.

Thanks Anfield,
You are right. But he upset me. I think that we are all reasonable guys here, not that I want to make it cosy, people can say what they think, others can disagree.
But honest in what they feel.

I said 'so-called' because the comments on recent articles are unbelieveable with not one of you supporting PDC. His 'rants' are sometimes close to the mark but informative to us the fans. Keep it behind closed doors ?? Bet the BBC and Police wish they hadn't done this in the recent past.
Halfway through a season, sitting 5 points off the top and we get the following comments because he MIGHT have been refering to a Youth team manager in a statement about the way the youth system should change.
"He needs to go."
"I'm not suggesting we sack him...too expensive."
"that he has taken the club as far as he he can, Bon Voyage"
"He's got far more resources than most in this division, let him show us just how good a manager he is."
"As a coach, he has a big mouth & not much else"
Followed by:
"Oldham were played off the park on Saturday"
and from a Donny Fan !!!!!
"you teams performance, it was electric at times and you deserved all 3 points no arguements!"
Then attacks on players:
"why does he keep bringing in loanees like Hollands."
At the time we had 2 fit centrally midfielders.
"Hollands, well I've seen better at lower levels in the lower leagues, shear panic brought about the own goal, and it did affect his game."
Very unlucky with the own goal (deflection off Flint 2 yards from him, facing his own goal, is not mentioned). Hollands was then suberb against Donny, he and Bostock ran the midfield, building from the back as called for by many.
I am a Town fan have been for many years, season ticket holder for a while now. I prefer to judge by what I see on the pitch and not pick out players slightest error because a personal favourite has been left out of the side. We have a good team and a good slightly eccentric, but passionate manager, that has picked this club up off the floor and put some pride back.

Canio-is -the-man,
Welcome to the site.
You have had your comments & you like your favourite. Doesn't mean that I do.

Gollum,
I don't have favourites on the pitch but some do, which is my point.
The couple that sit behind me are Da Vita fans. If he is playing all is rosy. If he aint the first mistake from his replacement is moaned about.
I don't pick teams, I go and watch the team that Paolo puts out on the day. If a player has a poor game I would rather accept it and move on to the next game. Every player has an off-day but some seem to hold that off-day against the player and from then on he can do no right.
I saw a great performance against Donny a complete team effort where we totally outplayed them yet one player was singled out on these boards. Swinfan watch a different game to me ? No but his comments suggest that everything Hollands did was poor or did one unfortunate error lead him to that comment.
Hard one tomorrow and I will be there supporting the eleven that paolo picks.

Has anybody ever noticed that if you took the opinions of several guys sat in the same row in the same stand watching the same game, virtually every one of them would paint a slightly different picture to what they have seen. Without prejudice to anyone that is probably very uncomfortably true. Any team in any country that would apply, not just us here.
Age does have a bearing to what you like in a player, and in a manager come to that. I do think supporters become seasoned or matured like a wine as to how they view what is going on at their club.
I can see two sides to Canioman at least. One is the driven must win at any cost, train, train and train some more, treat your body like a temple etc, passion, pride and so much more. Another facet is his lack of perspective in another persons country, his Italian temperament being fine a Lazio, but slightly out of place and focus here, where the older pharts prefer dirty laundry to be done in the office, changing room or board room. Its how we are, but nobody can ordain whether it is right or wrong , but convention dictates what is acceptable or not. As many have said, he comes as a package, and the older guys also express founded concern given our heritage over the amounts of money being spent on the team, when managers not that long ago, Luggy for one, got us a promotion on next to naff all. That is a comparison not an argument.
We all support the team, and perhaps are entitled sometimes to question the line up, as we only ever want the best, no crime in that. I've never booed a Town player, or Manager, and I've seen a few since 1958, but like everyone else I pay my admission, also a S/T for some seasons now, so I'll pass my opinion. I don't expect everybody all the time to agree, but most agree most of the time.
Do I want him to leave, resoundingly NO, not at this moment, he and he alone will decide that, but, if I could change him, would I, well yes, I would like him to control his rants in his lamented professional way as he preaches to others, wind his tongue in and become less of a dictator and more of a person. That would win him more respect and probably land in his lap all he wants.

Well done SF. That must have taken an effort,!
Canio-is-the-man, now I will call you CITM, 'cos can't be typing the long version, you are welcome on this board to give your views & moan about us. We need new blood. I for one, value the opininions of someone who has been to a game that I haven't. Debate is what it's all about.
But I don't think that the sun shines out of DiC's backside.
I think that he has squandered a lot of money, on players that might be coached to play well, but he ain't any good as a coach. OK, he got us out of Div 2 & we aren't doing too badly this season, but his man management is appalling. Hitler got his side to a certain level, but then the wheels fell off.
I can see the DiC getting us promoted, but worry about what goes on from there. He antagonises all sorts of people & doesn't care whether it costs the club. If we do go up, we will have to sign new players. His record of choosing them..... Well!

Swinfan,
Agree about differing opinions but see all too often a player not being given the credit he deserves because he can do nothing right in some eyes and it does happen.
Dirty laundry hide it ? Tends to lead to cover ups in my book. Say nothing and it will go away. Priests, Saville, Hillsborough, BBC all coming to light recently.
Budget - not huge and not small. Wasted - maybe prefer to judge towards the end of the season when players have had an decent injury free run.
Discipline - been missing in previous seasons but not now. Good to see the players toeing the line and player power being kicked into touch. They are at Swindon to play football so those that want an easy life can go. It would not be tolerated in the forces.
Looking forward to tonight it will be a tough test. Hoping we can find the target against an average goalkeeper for a change.

Citm,
You are there, & I ain't! But welcome on board to this site, & let us know what happens. I'm sorry if my earlier comments were less than welcoming.
Let me know your seat no. & I'll see if my bro, official Town photographer can take a pic, although he usually prefers to do day games for that. So you might have to wait to get into the gallery.
But, you guys have a good Christmas whatever the result tonight. We shall see what the New Year brings!
