Shares

Celtic shares are up almost 13% today! Thanks to Charles Green's propaganda on Rangers floatation, looks like Celtic are very undervalued in comparison.

Animals - what are you talking about?

Are you trying to say that a companies value is the number of shares x current share price?

If so, the this is nonsense in the real world, as trying to realise that value would put the shares into a tailspin.

exactly DC. The capital value of a company = share price x number of shares in issue. It seems ridiculous that Celtic are technically only valued at £35-40m, when the playing squad alone is probably worth more, but that's how it is. If you had £36m and could persuade all the shareholders to sell to you, you could buy the lot lock, stock and barrel.

You are wrong, as you would have to persuade all the shareholders without any of them knowing that you were looking to buy it all.

Otherwise shares either leap with folk wanting more, or hit the floor, depending on the type of takeover, buyer etc.

So as I said, paper value only.
