The man's unstoppable

Still a young guy with his career ahead of him Esctosh. To say he has done nothing is just being blinkered.

Maybe he wouldn't have developed as well as he has if he went straight to a top club, and probably wouldn't be getting a game.

He's scoring goals in the best tournament in the world against top sides like Barcelona (which he said was the best day of his life), ranked in UEFA's most exciting young players list, nominated for Young African Player Of the Year, linked to Man Utd etc. Hardly the accolades of a 21 year old who has 'done nothing'. He's loving it here, obviously too good a player to stay long-term, but we'll certainly rake in the ££££ when he goes.

A calibre of player The Rangers won't get for a LONG time, that's for sure.

The bottom line is that he has potential. He is a prospect. No more. No less. Has alot to prove. We've seen players show potential before early in their careers only to disappear. Liam Miller springs to mind.

Give the guy a break. He's not a superstar. And I'm right in saying he's done nothing. Scoring the odd goal against top class opposition does not make someone a great player. Unless you think Gary McSwegan was a great player; scored against Marseille in champs lg for us or Scott Nisbett ? Nah thought not.

That's taking nothing away from him. He may go on to be a great player. But for now he is a prospect

Comparing Victor Wanyama with Gary McSwegan That's a belter. I don't remember McSwegan being linked with the likes of Man Utd & Arsenal? Liam Miller is an exception, how many players fall away in the manner he did? Very few.

A prospect who is thriving in the highest standard of club football? With 2 MOTM performances into the bargain? He's the biggest talent to play in the SPL for a long time.

He's achieving what he wants to do with Celtic right now. Playing for a big club, winning trophies and playing in Europe's elite competition, while being a fans favourite. Many experts outside Scotland clearly rate him, and not just as a prospect, but a cracking player already.

Comparing bob malcolm is being rather churlish esctosh.

If you know anything about football you can see that Wanyama is a cracking talent.

The proof of how good he is (or not) will be when he plays consistently at a higher level. And turns in performances at that level that prove he is such a talent.

The SPL has had many top talented players in recent years. All foreign sadly. But there have also been many players who played well in the SPL and failed elsewhere.

It's too early to judge Wanyama. Playing 6 games in Europe, albeit against top class opposition, does not make him a great player. It makes him a great prospect.

As I said, once, or if, he's playing regularly at that level with these guys and producing such performances at that level then you can call him a great talent.

Until then, he simply isnt. He cannot be compared with the ucrrent great players. He is nowehere near their level (yet).

You guys get completely carried away over players all the time. You did it with Hooper and you've did it with umpteen layers in the past. FFS Hooper isnt even the to scorer in the one-horse race that is the SPL in a side that creates 10x the chances of other teams.

Get a grip
