So . . . Millwall

Today we come up against a team punching above their weight on limited resources and a relatively small fanbase. A bit like us. Just in the play off places . . . and with more than 4 wins this season.

We played well last week (so I'm told) and I saw with my own eyes against Leicester that we are capable of competing, on the pitch at least, with the best teams in the division. I would be going tomorrow as well but unfortunately will be working, which is a shame as I have been to 4 away games this season, seeing us win 3, draw 1, score 12 and concede only 5. If only we could do that when I'm not there. Maybe we can tomorrow if Keith is genuinely 'ready' and wants to keep his job and gain back some of the supporters we have lost under his reign this season.

We are of course, coming up against one of the in-form teams in the division. This does not, however, hide the fact that even if everything goes as expected and we lose we won't have won a game for over 2 months. Which is, frankly, pathetic no matter how many excuses people can come up with. Oh and we could end the day bottom. And on Christmas day as well.

So come on Keith. Motivate the players and get the supporters back on your side with a win tomorrow. Unlikely to happen I know, but if we can smash 5 past Birmingham and hold our own against the likes of Leicester away then there's no reason why we can't come home with 3 points.

I went down the Amex last Tuesday for a bit of reconnaissance and watched Brighton V Millwall.

I have to say that I wish we were playing Brighton, Millwall's style of play is exactly what our team cannot deal with. The break up the play, they play for set pieces and the have an immense physical presence up front in Darius Henderson.

They also go down and lie on the floor after every challenge to waste time and stop the flow of football. Brighton were only able to get a point after the Ref caved into pressure from the crowd and gave a dodgey penalty, and we don't even get the stonewall ones.

No optimistic about today as you can probably tell.
