I was travelling to England when Posh put five past us. If that wasn't bad enough, the first time I have time to read some articles on the Bolton News website, I read Kevin Davies admitting that the team underestimated Posh. That for me is unforgivable as this excuse has been rolled out already this season.
How many times is this team going to roll over in the face of so called lesser teams? The defence is utter rubish and the manager doesn't seem to know which players are his best team. I'm sorry but I don't agree with all this chopping and changing. Pick the best team and replace when necessary. That seems simple enough to me and something most decent managers subscribe to.
Any one who thinks we will be promoted this season is sadly deluded. As far as I can see, we could do with a whole new defence. Freedman needs to sort out his best team and play in form players. Petrov is a prime example. When he has played he has been effective, yet he can't command a starting place.
Freedman has been on board long enough now to know which is his best team. I do accept that he has inherited a poor defence and he can't do anything about that until January. I wait with bated breath to see what sort of money he gets and whether or not he can get the players in that will be able make a difference.
At the moment I'm quite angry about our situation and worried about our chances in this division.
I just hope that we have something to cheer about this festive season although I won't be holding my breath.
Gutted.

And people forming strong opinions on Freedman already... It defies belief.

It only defies belief because it's negative. If it was equally positive, you'd be agreeing with me.

Goldenwyn, I've always been a positive person but I'm not calling for DF's head. If you can't see our defence is rubbish there's nothing else to say.
I also understand that Freedman has to be able to buy his own players before he can be judged. However I have never liked changing a team for the sake of it and to be honest after a settling in period, DF should know his strongest starting line up.
Yes I am gutted. Did you think we would be in this position at this point in the season and conceding five goals to the bottom of the league?
As far as Coyle is concerned, I like to give all our managers a fair crack of the whip which I will do with Freedman, that doesn't mean I can't give constructive criticism. Like almost every other poster towards the end of Coyle's reign, I knew his time was up. Sometimes the sack becomes inevitable.
I was also like to know if you think that the captain saying that the team underestimated the opposition is acceptable. As you will know it not the first time that has happened this season.

One other point, I am not saying Gartside is without blame. He signs all the managers but I assume the manager asks for the players he wants and the chairman does his best to secure them. I don't think for one minute that the signings were Gartside's signings. It doesn't usually happen that way.

RR, no problem with the one star. On the rare occasions I award a 1 star, I always mention it in my post. I don't like people hiding behind anonymity.

Well SWIE, I hope you have a great Christmas back in UK. 6 points would certainly help <fingerscrossed>

Not really, TRR. I don't see how anyone can judge Freedan either way: our form hasn't improved miraculously, but there nevertheless has been a steady improvement. Your statement is pretty bold ten games into his reign.

TRR for someone who backed Coyle when it was so significantly bad I am surprised by you.

Hi SWIE
You told me 2 weeks ago that I need a reality check when I posted that we need to forget about the outside chance of promotion this year and I said we need to dispose with the whole defence, weak midfield ( mainly loans ) and the misfiring twitter champion Mr Sordell and the permanently injured Mr NGog asap.
Lee Clark has to use a team full of 17 and 18 year olds from the reserves because of financial problems and yet they will still grind out results at Brum.
This lot will take us down again so for me its get rid if we can find buyers daft enough. I still think we will sell Chungy for £3m and we should get about £3m for Sordell and £3m for NGog and that should be given to DF immediately to get a useful, organised and committed back 4 once and for all.
With Vela, Holden and Wheater back in Feb that along with the rest and the newcomers should ensure a middle table position and a chance of promotion next year !!

Sporting Whites, you are twisting my post out of all reality. You advocated getting rid of twelve players, not four. I said in other words it was a silly suggestion my comment stands. Take another look at my post above. I wrote we needed a new defence, not a new squad.

Hi CEF, thanks for your comment. I have just booked and printed my tickets for todays game. What a mess that was. I registered with my Spanish address and they refused my card details as they needed my postcode from my UK address. As I don't have a UK address it wasn't possible. In the end my daughter bought the tickets on her card.
What a system.
