Only those around in the ancient days of BBC 606 will know of whom I speak
In honor of tonight's result, I would like to re-post one of my favorite comments in the history of 606. I know lots of you have seen it before, but it's Christmas, and we wont 4-0 in their backyard,

Once upon a time, long, long ago, there lived a young boy called holte leg end. Young holte was a happy child and he would laugh and dance and play.
Mainly with himself though.
Then came school. School made young holte unhappy. the other kids were mean to him, they would tease him and be mean to him. But the worst was at lunchtime.
That was when they played football.
That was when they chose the teams. As is always the case, the cool kids with all the skills got picked first & naturally they would play as
Spurs.
Now holte wasn't one of these kids. In fact he was chosen last. & of course, the only team left was aston villa. Now holte only had one team-mate, this guy:

...but because he was above holte in the pecking order, he was in charge. so he put holte in goal.
Holte never argued because knew his place at the bottom of the food chain. So every lunchtime the same story. Goal after beautiful goal would sail past little holte. at first holte was sad and he would cry. later, he became angry. This anger eventually developed into a simmering resentment. "Why are Spurs so much better than aston villa?" holte would mutter to himself. "What gives them the right? They're not that special." So holte took solace in his history books and he discovered that aston villa had actually once been
successful.
The fact that this happened during the time of the dinosaurs, when a potato was used instead of a football didn't matter to him. Nor did
the fact that their success was achieved when no one else was playing. In fact, holte quite liked that idea.
"Imagine if no other kids played at lunch time," he would think "i could be the best & i might even get to play out on pitch one day." So holte grew up.
Now holte was lucky, not everyone knows their purpose in life, but holte did. He would show this tottenham hotspur that they're not so special. He would wipe the smile off their faces by proving that the unpopular aston villa were not just their equals but their superiors! "success long ago is worth more than success now, it ages, like a fine wine," would be holtes mantra.
So holte would come on 606 every day. On the Spurs page. He would convince everyone of this undeniable truth. But the cooler kids on 606 were just like the kids at school, his arguments convinced no one, they just made them laugh and they would take the proverbial out of holte by writing stories like this one.

Bumble, interested in your view.
When MON left I said (and plenty of other Spurs fans) it was the best thing to happen to us. Villa were rather close to us in the league those days, too close for comfort at times. Was my analysis correct or is actually because the Villa chairman has no money to spend?

I remember when villa were a threat, was less than 3 years ago they were challenging for 4th spot....
Now games against them are so easy it's embarassing. 2 seasons ago on Boxing Day we played them off the park - with 10 men for 60 mins....
Bombarded them last season, once again had a man sent off and they barely hung on....
Tonight they outnumbered us in midfield yet they couldn't keep the ball away from us...
Villa = serious relegation candidates

There was a big contest between MON and Jol for prime position in that race for 5/6. People forget how closer run thing that was.
Villa have collapsed.

The question is: who from the current squad has Holte Legend potential?
