I've seen a lot on here talk about how good the spine of our team is. In fact i'll admit i've probably said as much myself.
Now i'm sorry but this spine (reina skrtel agger johnson lucas gerrard suarez) hav been playing alongside each other for 2 years now with nothing but mediocrity to show for it. There have been 1 or 2 injuries in there but nothing to dismantling like losing 3 or 4 of them in the 1 go. So my question us whats the problem?
I have reserved judgement on us until now. You'll see that from my article history. N to be honest im not happy at being 10th, 8 points off 4th.
Thers a huge problem in this team. For me its eithers the players mentity (ie they are not hungry for success), or its the managers tactics. So which is it ?
For me, we have 2 world class players, agger and suarez. None ofthe rest have done anywhere near enough over the last 18 months to justify that status. Granted, the likes of lucas sterling etc have special dispensation.
So is it time we stopped laying the blame at the feet of yhe usual suspects (downing, henderson, cole), n time we started asking what are we actually getting from these so called superstars.
Im not happy, i've waited half the season to pass my verdict. Transitional period or not there is no way we have the 10th best squad in the league. We shoild be doing much better than we are. So who's to blame?
The spine of our team

Brendan is doing the right thing. Silly mistakes cost us.
But this is kind of my point. Im not basing my article on only tonight. I'm basing it on the last 2 years. Now he keeps playing these guys in the same way in the same positions.
I understand we maybe have nobody else to play the roles bt maybe the formation needs tinkering.
We're in a bad way here. If this continues we WILL lose suarez in the summer. Hes too good to hang around waiting on something to happen (regardless of what hes said recently). A team without him really worries me.

Fourth is highly unlikely. The team doesn't have goalscorers. Suarez and Gerrard aside.

Fourth is highly unlikely"
It's not unlikely mate, 4th is almost impossible for you and i actually mean that. You are just not good or consistant enough to challenge 4th and 'got_better' ramming it down you're throats every week is not going to make any difference. You are a team that will possibly improve under Brendan Rogers over time but to actually think you will challenge for 4th this season is laughable. You have never been involved in the race for 4th so i don't see why it has come into the equation.

theresonlyonereds, maybe i am just looking at got_betters articles then but a few Liverpool fans have certainly backed got_better in his views that Liverpool are challenging for 4th.

I have yet to see one. I have saw people saying we could challenge if we had a good transfer window but that was before two defeats in three games. That has all but ended that notion. Got_Better says only eight points but at this stage of the season eight points is a big gap, especially when other teams are between you and eight points. It's now virtually impossible.
