Another game, another 3 points and still we are hanging around at the top with the big boys.
Everyone keeps telling me that we will drop off sooner or later, but 19 games gone and we are still going.
Yesterday - It's a shame that all the attention is on poor old Arry not getting the points and the penalty that wasnt given rather than the fact that for the first 70 mins of that game, WBA were outstanding and should of been more tha just 2 up. Well worth the win.
Our mini bad run has well and truly ended with 7 points from the last 9. For me that shows what a good team we are. We have had to bad run of defeats this year losing 3 in a row twice. First time we bounced back with 4 wins on the trott and now we've bounced back with 2 wins and a draw in some tricky fixtures.
Yesterday did come at a price though and Popov, Olsson and Long all pick up injuries.
With us travelling to Old Trafford on Saturday and with the pressure off us after a run of good results....I wouldn't even risk playing any of them (even if they are passed fit). This is not me writing off the United game as I think we can still put out a very capable team but I'm just think of some very winnable games we've got coming up in January.
Team for Sat:
Yacob if finally fit should also be saved for this one. Long, Olsson, Popov, Reid should not be risked for this.
Foster
Jones McAuley Tamas Ridgewell
Mulumbu Brunt
Fortune Morrison Dorrans
Lukaku
Valencia and Young on the wings for Utd so Odemwingie again only a place on the bench as MAF is much better defensively and also i thought Gera looked spanked at FT yesterday. Don't forget his age and i think he's played alot of football lately after being abit in and out at the very start of the season. So bring in Dozza who can do a job defensively and has fresh legs after siiting out yesterday.
And still we keep going...(United next)

Agreed, JH.
We can still put out a decent team and Utd concede goals so who knows.
Would save our main men for the Fulham game.

Just pcked up on this thread the day after the Manchester United game. As it happens, George Thorne stepped into midfield, and considering our absentees I agree with JH we did ok. I also agree on saving our players for more winnable fixtures in January.

cheers Kanga.
Isn't about the 2nd week of Jan normally.? Not overly sure tbh but hopefully Yacob is back and Thorne proved himself yesterday. We should cope for the month.
Villa, Reading and Fulham in Jan though. Winnable games so we have to take points to stay in touch
