I have a friend who is a Villa fan, and he has text me saying he feels bad for us fans. Also have a lecturer who is a Villa fan, and I lost count of the amount of times he told me that Villa were dire last season under Mcleish.

Club owners are a funny lot. Blackburn sack Allardyce, who was keeping them safely in the PL, then stick with Keane through relegation, then wait until he's got them at the top of the Championship then sack him.

mcleish is sh!tt.... pick any manager at any tesco express in the uk, even they could guide rangers to a cup or two in a weak league with only one competitor.

birminghams league cup win was as jammy as di matteos champions league win.. anyone can do well in the league cup.. cardiff city got to the final last season, bradford are in semis this season..means f all, what matters is he got brum relegated and almost did same to villa... because of his useless tactics.
villa may be prone to a thrashing here and there.. but we play some great football now and then... nothing like that happened under mcleish...a young team is bound to have ups and downs.. its all about learning. still think villa will be ok.. if mcleish was still here though im positive we'd go down

Lambert has won 5 Premier League matches in his first half season. McLeish only won 4 throughout the whole of his season. That's the difference.

McLeish stuck doggedly to playing "experience" over talent. Had he introduced the young talent in stages over the season he would have done better. As it was, he only played them when he had to. With the older players Lambert has ditched the rubbish and brought in players with a future.

McLeish signed Alan Hutton, and was willing to let Guzan, outstanding goalkeeper, go. Lambert signed Benteke, and brought Guzan back.

McLeish has one outstanding achievement to his name. He united Birmingham and Villa fans, an almost impossible thing to do.

They have more chance of promotion than us, rather him than this clown we have now
