Brewers Match Predictor League Table (25)

That was an incredible win. Southend were unbeaten in 14 and we beat them quite comfortably. They were obviously quite useful, very confident and took the game to us in the first half (with a strong wind behind them). However, they did not create a lot really. We worked so incredibly hard, knew where the net was and wanted it more.

For the second game in succession everyone played extremely well. Lee Bell was absolutely superb though. An awesome performance from him.

17 games at the top for Captain Utd has finally ended. He went top on 22nd September when we drew at Torquay. A great run. JFWqwerty6 is now top.

That's 3 games on the trot when no-one has predicted the score.

1) JFWqwerty6 - 61
2) Captain Utd - 59
3) Foxy Freddy - 56
4) Otep - 54
5) Emnez - 51
6) Stuart44 - 48
7) Don Touched My Boots - 44
8) Steve1210 - 44
9) Marco - 42
10) Derby Yellow - 41
11) Old Brookender - 40
12) Terraceman - 35
13) Brewer Dave - 34
14) Burton Boy - 34
15) Ady1963 - 29

Yes, an excellent win against a strong, confident side and a ref and linesman on the pop side who struggled with the laws of the game at times. Too many bodies to get a clear view of the red card, but it had been coming ever since Stanno was booked. He was clearly aggrieved and giving the lino a right ear bashing at every opportunity until he walked. A case of red mist, I suspect, and a chance for Aaron to step up to the plate on Tuesday.

Echo the earlier comments about Lee Bell. MOTM for me. Billy did well again, looks hungry. And another good shift from Jack Dyer.

Anybody else notice Anthony O'Connor getting annoyed with himself after a couple of mis-placed long balls into touch? Thought it showed a great mental attitude, wanting to do better. One of the unsung heroes of the season for me.

And for a fourth choice keeper, isn't Dean Lyness coming on? Couple of takes low down that could well have crept in, and looked assured on crosses. If he's still one for the future, then the future looks bright!

Back in the top seven and looking forward to 2013. Might just get that day out at Wembley in May?

Was viewing league table and stats steve 1210, if we hadn't have had some silly lapses we would be in an automatic promotion place now !!! Agree with all you say by the way. Perhaps those lapses will be lessons learned and we can keep picking up the points through to the end of April. Zola and Kee staying injury free is important in my mind.

A great win Brewers. Yes Steve1210 the red mist did come down for Stano , but it was coming as many Brewers fans could see that this was Southends plan B for the second half. The tactics were clear to see , if no goals came for Southend first part of the half, turn the game ugly and hope for a reaction. The ref was being played by southend.
Great news is it did not matter in the end and the Brewers picked up all 3 points and we were the better team on the day.

Great football for the home fans to see. More of the same please Brewers.

Keep getting my predictions wrong, but who cares - delighted with our position in the League and the style of football we are playing
