Difficult to say whether James is better, he may have more skill but Bale is proving it in the PL and is all power and speed. One things for sure both Porto and Spurs are good at getting high prices for their players although I would imagine Bale would cost more.

I think maybe 2/3 years ago you could say Bale was inconsistent but now he seems to perform week in week out (far better than our wingers this season) and he is still only 23. I'm not comparing him to Ronaldo but physically there are similarities and IMO Bale wil only get better.
