It Makes No Business Sense....

Aye, it makes no business sense to pay 800,000 (450,000) more than paid by Bursa- for a proven goalscorer who can clearly play alongside our main striker as well as add a smidgen of leadership to the team.

I tell you now that Rangers would've won both Saturday's and tonight's matches with Kenny Miller up with Jela and Naismith just behind.

The price paid to Rangers for Miller from Bursa should not have been an issue.............simple fact is how much is an international striker who will score in excess of 25 goals a season worth?

Back to business sense...........this decision, this early in our season could potentially cost us £15m.........f'n idiots.

Oh suddenly the CL isnt a priority now?

No name, when was the CL last a priority for your team?
Just give me a year thanks!

Who looked more dangerous in the Rangers team than Miller tonight?....and who would you suggest we pick up who'd be better for 450k.....don't talk nonsense mate!! Kenny Miller wanted to come and Rangers 'executives' and Bursa couldn't agree winky sizes!

Eh! Arise Sir W. I would like a response please!

bluereynard, thats panic talk! Miller scored the goals last season undeniable fact! I just do not see him doing it again, sorry, but he was never acknowledged as a goalscorer to that level before! As I say we should have had someone in before this stage and Miller was never the answer! I beleive we will come through this result but I also would prefer 4IAR rather than a last 16 or Champs League dismal at group stage! Can you imagine Celtic with another year without Champions League monies? Stay strong IWWT and he taught Alsitair! So IWWT to get through this! Celtic are 2 points clear after 1 game they couldnt handle 8 points clear in March! This tournament is beyond their qualification! GTBAB

£15m CL this season and a potential £15m CL next season - (given the proper investment for a League win) down the swanneee!! there will be no place to hide Mr Whyte- you bought it..........please get on with it (properly) - I cannot believe what I am reading in terms of offers made - and cannot accept what happened on the Miller deal (given the potential returns). It is my hope that I do not see Ally backing this sort of thing again in the media- I refer again to the KM deal........he doesn't believe it.........and if he does he ought to go ..and now!!

Even if KM were to score half those goals he'd be worth 450k..........it's a pittance FFS and IMO it's indefensible.

How many goals are you going to guarantee that GW would score at 2m? 4x the cost!!? (not doing the boy down) but bona fide question?

KM is not worth the money! The transfer fee is but a part of the deal, factor in the signing on fee, wages, bonuses etc etc and he WILL not score the goals! Goodwillie will be hgiher initial cost but lower wages etc etc and (though I do not advocate it) will have a sell on value that should increase! I would gladly risk a 5 year deal on Goodwillie but would not risk a 3 year deal for Miller and that is the minimum he would be after! The figures dont add up for Miller and I do not beleive he would come up for a trial! Such is the norm out east!!!!

We're a year down the line now. We won't make the same mistakes again.

Told you last week as per article........now where do you stand? (£15 million down the swannee against an average to poor side).

Was Alistair J talkin' rubbish or simply offering a glimpse of the future of RFC under C.Whyte in the transfer market?

Short sighted doesn't even begin to desribe the events of the past few weeks (longer term contracts aside ...& well done for that), and now sadly we see the chickens come home to roost, although of course our club is damaged in the short to medium term.

There is a reason clubs pay (slightly) over the odds for certain players (on occasion) and that is because those clubs scouts / management are certain the player is the correct option at that particular moment in time............mess with that moneymen at your peril!

On tonight's showing though ,seeing a lot about Whittaker, Bougherra...referee etc. Personally I am seriously concerned at the non introduction of G.Wylde around the 60 -70 min mark........that team were there for the taking and Alistair didn't respond.....no legs in the side at that point and IMO we had the answer on the bench ...I am.a very annoyed and disheartened bear....Let's see where we go from here ....who we can now attract / afford etc..
