The pieces move in to place?

With the imminent arrival of Chris Wood and possibly Alex Baptiste, the obvious conclusion may be that there will be some heading for the exit door.

Wood is not dissimilar to Futacs, except that he potentially has more to offer at this level. Futacs can consider himself unfortunate, but his days seem to be numbered. I also believe that Gally and Wellens have done enough for this club to be offered free transfers so they can go and get regular football and a signing on fee.

I believed in Beckford's ability but accept that he has played his last game for Leicester. However, it still bothers me greatly that Huddersfield (flush from the £8m sale of Rhodes) get him for the majority of a season for diddly squat. But I suppose he has to be playing to be truly in the shop-window.

Danns I would like to see staying out on loan at Bristol City, whilst remaining on Leicester's books. I still think he could cut it here - although I wouldn't mind offering him and Futacs to Birmingham as a swap for Ambrose.

For me, the jury is out on Knockeart. Great fun and exciting to watch but at times, he doesn't think as a team player. £5m from Arsenal (if true) would be tempting and give far more opportunity for Marshall, who I think is more suited for the Championship.

I have been a long-time critic of Waghorn but have seen enough in the last couple of months to believe he has a future here - but not as a striker. Convert him to an attacking/wider midfielder Nige and you may have something. Vardy (on the hand) needs a loan spell in League 1 to develop his confidence and touch.

Overall, they are starting to show promise and Pearson has clearly spotted the fragility up-front and in the defensive side of mid-field that we have been going on about for some time. Hopefully, two more pieces of the jigsaw will fit into place in the next few days.

I agree with much of that. Regarding Knockaert, the big problem he has is a lack of pace. If he had that, he'd be an absolute nightmare. I think he's still getting used to the speed of the English league so there may be more to come.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether his mate Futacs will be here beyond January as his chances will be incredibly limited. He has put in one or two decent performances off the bench, but there must be a concern about his ability to play possession football - furthermore that his presence might hamper the rest of the team. If he does move, probably down a league, I wish him well.

Knockaert is 20 years old and the most creative player on our books. He'll only get better and I 'm not convinced he is lacking pace.

Don't suggest Waghorn playing midfield in a wider role. That's going backwards again for the bloke. He does his damage in a more central role.

It's unfortunate for Waggy because his best position appears to be the link up man in a 4-3-2-1 (4-5-1) but this would mean dropping Nugent which is never going to happen.

So, in a 4-4-2 Woods is likely to partner Nuge and Waggy would w an impact sub. In a 4-5-1, Nuge would prob start up top. Having said that, I think he's shown that he's not as dangerous in that formation.

There is still space for Waggy in the team, but I don't think he will start very often which is a shame for him.

Nuge and (probably) Woods a given in 4-4-2 but I beleive Waggy should be the 1 over Nugent if we go 5 in midfield. He is stronger than Nuge with his bak to goal.
