Live from a car park in Leeds cold and once more defeated, having watched a solid but uninspired game, I can on behalf of the travelling faithful report that Tyrone Mears is the worst defender we have had in 20 years.

LH today he was useless, childish defending for the penalty, no vision when in possession gave the ball away repeatedly and of his 4 crossing opportunities two landed in the stands whilst the others found Leeds players

Your only criticising him because he was signed by Owen Coyle

wressleturbine, I think you should lamp Mears in the car park and nick 36 quid out of his wallet mate.

Never said he was perfect...merely better than the low opinion he has garnered. Not as bad as Hunt, Steinsson, or even Otsomobor!

Fair play HH but he is not better than Steinsson. It was a mistake to let him go for free yet buy a replacement who is worse.

I think the point here that echoed around the away end is why on earth does DF selected Mears ahead of Riley, who even at his tender age would struggle to be as poor as Mears.

As for Hunt, we considering he was a fairly constant presence in our defence when we finished top 8 four years on the bounce he can't have been that awful, other than the last few months before Steinsson was recruited and put him out of the side which was the beginning of the end, but then the whole team was on the slide by then.

"I find it incredible how he has garnered a low opinion amongst a portion of BWFC fans. I consistently hear he is 'rubbish' 'poor' etc, but without any reasons given. I think he a very solid player...even if he is caught out, he has the pace to recover!"

i find it incredible that any of our defensive players can be given the tag "solid"
