Just wondering if any of you lot could explain what the yellow light of death actually is?

Is it the same as the RRoD for the XBox?

IT PRETTY MUCH MEANS YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY TAKE APART YOUR PS3, THEN RECONSTRUCT IT.

unless your savvy with technology and take it apart , then your best bet is to purchase another ps3.......

YLOD is from overheating... you can fix it yourself if you have a soldering iron and know what youre doing

or you can get it fixed for about 80 quid
