On 'stats' alone Town deserved this one, But the reality was, 10 man
Charlton had Town back peddling for much of the 2nd half,
& the 1 nil lead, at times, seemed hardly enough.

Now we await to see who we get in the 5th round.
do we want an easy draw & hope we progress to the 6th rd !
or an away draw at one of the top 'prem' sides..where we might go out of the comp, but receive a large cash boost !

Charlton will be favorites, both on current form, & having 'home' advantage.
I often comment that 'we' play better away from home without the stigma of a dour home crowd to contend with, But, after that 6 goal mauling at the hands of Leicester..That 'theory' has been well & truely blown out of the water.
BUT !
It's the FA Cup. anything can happen..& does.
There will be a 'Giant killing act' for sure. there always is ! I don't think we will win, But the hope that we do..& get drawn against a 'big club' in the 4th round always excites me..How about You !

I was appaulled at the standard of Football I witnessed at the Sheff Wed fixture last week. I had it confirmed that it was pretty much what was on offer for the previous Blackpool game...& Tuesday v Leicester, No more needs to be said about that.
So what can we expect from TOWN at 3pm at The Valley on Saturday ?
..dare I suggest more of the same ! or will 'they' lift themselves for this one.
That is annoying in it self.

What I want to see, & expect, from this tie,
I want to see a huge improvement in effort & commitment, nothing less will do.
I expect players to be picked in their favoured & Best positions, I expect them to do their very best, even if they are up against superior individuals who clearly are better players than they are.

The above has not been forthcoming in recent weeks.
I want to be optimistic, But like many more, I am finding it hard..& getting harder..under the present ownership & management to feel this way.
In my opinion, Hoyle has picked 3 men to manage the team & made 3 poor choices.
Along with these three characters 'advice'.., Hundreds of thousands of pounds has been wasted on loanee's & ridiculously high wages..
The team is not a 'team'.
It doesn't look like it will ever be a 'team' under the present coaching, management style,
And I for one am finding it harder (& pointless) trying to remain loyal to a regime that is at odds with my perception of 'belonging' to, & supporting the local side.

So, Which manager 'wants' to progress in this comp !
Powell. will he see this as a chance to be in the 4th round & maybe a favorable draw & some much needed 'cash' after playing a premier side or will he be one who frowns on 'Cup' distractions..?
Grayson. Lots on his mind right now. & dare I mention his very Job !
The results from the last 10 fixtures have him right on the Bulls eye for the 'next manager for the chop'... will a good cup run help him & the team find some much needed confidence....
or will he look for the answer in his beloved 'FA Coaching manual'..
Throw it away Simon ! It is doing you no favours at all.

I suspect the admissions will be too high, & many won't bother with this game, That will also apply to the home support, a lower than average gate at the Valley for this tie, as Town aren't exactly a crowd pulling 'draw' either..probably quite the opposite at the moment.

Against my better judgement <Yikes>
I'm going for a win for the Terriers.
I'm 'hoping' The Valiants under estimate us. 'assume' we are a poor threat,
& that as a team our lads get it together & pull off a 'shock' win.
Thank goodness for the FA Cup !
In my mind a welcome distraction to the drab reality that at the moment...
we are a poor side, with all sorts of problems.
All or nothing Saturday.

It's a one off,
A chance to try something different,
Lets just hope we approach the game in a positive mind set, & go from there.
'Darn's' massage to Grayson... Don't insist on a 'game plan', let the players go out there & express themselves,
I want to see our players use ALL the pitch, exploit the wide open spaces,
running in support of the man with the ball.
It's not expecting too much...
But I am expecting much change.

head says 3-0 to 'them...
heart says 0-1 Town.

"winning is good...sounded better than of late..shame norwood dissapears in games..

charlton are as niggly as sh-t, have been for a while, we usually end up with a sh-tload of yellows and they get a red..

always better to be in the "hat" than not and we did seriously need a win however it was obtained..

well done, improvement but much more required in the future..

sounds like a school report!!!!!!!!"

There you go loui....... That's what he said.

it's goodto have summat to smile about...and as for Arfield...his first win in 5 appearances for Town this season...just when I was doing my stat attacks...,plus, I shaved my unlucky beard off this week...sorry, hadn't realised that was the problem ...

Just watched the highlight show.

Most of the goals seemed to be caught on cctv!

Just about sums up How much people care about the "famous F. A Cup" nowadays.

BLISS...it felt so cool,
Now,
I long for the cool weather of last week !
I tell ya guys, Hot sticky weather ain't all it's cracked up to be.

The draw, don't know about you, But I'd like to keep progressing
So I'm hoping for an 'easy' home tie - if there is such a thing-

Wolves after Dean Saunders eh, after their man got the chop after the defeat to Luton Town !
I wonder if Malky MacKay is on thin ice after yesterday
