I think the board want him on side but Villas Boas thinks it'll be too much competition in the short term. We'll likely loan him out till January with the option of an extending it till May. Way i see it we have three options with regards to clubs he could join, either he could rejoin Anderlecht to help smooth the transfer over ..... he could join Courtois at Athletico to help bolster their frontline with the absence of Aguero ..... or he could be loan out to a PL club to help him grow accustomed to the league, Newcastle springs to my mind for some reason (probably his resembles to Carroll lol).

Personally i just want to see something else from chelsea, weve basically seen the same players, same system for years with a few new additions now and again. Id love us to sign 4/5 new players and bring through at least 3 young lads to challenge the first team. But i agree one of the main reasons for signing him now is to make sure other teams dont get him, because i still see drogba as having a role to play

I would send him on loan for 6 months, whether thats to Anderlecht or a PL Side I'm not sure, before letting him come back as cover for Torres during ACON
