Window of Opportunity

To be honest cant see any of them happening, with maybe the exception of Meyler but wasnt he supposed to return to Sunderland the other week? Would be a good move for him if Hull were to get promoted.

I'd love to see Doyle get a move to a club not fighting relegation as I think it would bring the best out of him.
Meyer deal looks like it's rubberstamped and hopefully Brady stays till the end of the season anyway as no point going back to Utd and sitting on the bench at best.
Who cares about Robbie anymore really...harsh but true.
I hope Long stays where he is at the moment as they are flying and he is playing great stuff which is good news for Ireland.
Love to see Arsenal go for McCarthy he would be perfect for them

Shane Long definitely not going to Liverpool... it's like those rumours a few years ago that Doyle was going to Arsenal... absolute nonsense!

Meyler and Brady are both doing very well at Hull though, watched Hull pass Leeds off the park for 90minutes the other day, it was like watching Spain v Ireland at the Euros all over again

Those two are a central part of that team, and I'd be shocked if Hull didn't get auto promo to the prem this year, best footballing side in the championship at the moment by a distance.

As for McCarthy he's growing and growing in influence every season at Wigan, but can't see any offers coming in for him until summer at the earliest.

Hope Dunne gets some game time anywhere, even if is for New York Redbulls... they're still a much better side than the bottom drawer MLS team Toronto, whom Darren O'Dea plays for

If our good young players played for Real Madrid, then Trap would still ignore them for McShane, Green, Whelan, O'Dea, Keogh etc.

The man needs to go.

Cant see much movement regarding Ireland players in January really...

McCarthy is improving for Wigan but Id agree it will be the Summer at the earliest he moves. Wigan seem to lose a key player or two each summer. Baines, Valencia, N'Zogbia, Moses...

Long is improving all the time and I now think hes a top 10 Prem player. Suited to WBA, if he could hold down his place there it would suit Ireland perfectly.

Id like to see Keane get another loan spell in the Premiership, QPR maybe, if only to get another few goals and secure his place in the all time Premiership top scorers charts, he's currently 11th.

Dunno if Doyle is good enough for the Premiership any longer sadly, would be good to see him go on to score a bucket load in the Championship this year and get back to his best.

Looks like the Arsenal scouts read ja606 given Arsenals interest in McCarthy (maybe just paper talk).
This would be a brilliant move for him and could really see Arsenal turning him into a real top class player.

Careful though, I remember a time a few years ago when the papers, even rte, were seriously linking Arsenal with a move for Kevin Doyle, which was obviously never going to happen.

Though I agree McCarthy is definitely more of a natural Arsenal player, won't believe any of this talk until an actual bid is made.

Thing is Doyle would've been a good signing for Arsenal (certainly better than Chamakh).
McCarthy is a big strong fella and would add some well needed strength to Arsenals midfield. McCarthy has come on a lot this season and looks good enough to make the step up and at 22 is the perfect age for it!
Probably just rubbish though

McCarthy is undoubtedly destined for much better things than Wigan, in fact Roberto Martinez has already said he thinks it's inevitable he will move to a Champion's League team, but I doubt it will be this month, he could be the difference between Wigan surviving or not. They don't really have anything to gain from cashing in now.

Another player being linked with a move away is Alan Judge. His contract with Notts Co is up at the end of the season and they may want to cah on now.
