Barry Smith

Is in a meeting at Dens today to discuss his future as Dundee manager. According to Radio Tay there is a split in the boardroom as some want rid and the others don't.

Far be it from me to tell those in charge of the wee team in the City of Discovery what to do with their team but it's absolutely ridiculous that they're even having these discussions today. Dundee were never going to finish anywhere other than bottom this season because they are quite frankly not good enough. They were building for a bash at the First Division title having finished 24 points or so behind County last season and were suddenly thrown in to the SPL utterly unprepared. They were never going to survive. They then had to thrash around the freebie market to see what they could get and ended up with that Grassi boy who has barely played.

Jose Mourinho wouldn't be able to keep this team up ffs so why do they think a change in manager is going to help them?

Barry Smith has done a good job at Dundee and shouldn't be punished because he has been thrown a curveball with their sudden promotion to the SPL. He's already provided them with a miracle by keeping them in the first division after their 25 point penalty and it would be an even bigger miracle to keep them in the SPL.

It baffles me when things like this happen. These board members who want to get rid of Smith need to lay off the drugs and get a firm grasp on reality, and the reality is that Dundee FC aren't good enough to stay in the SPL.

Apparently they're going to stand by him.

Commonsense prevails.

You have to feel sorry for the poor little lambs at Dens Park.
Twice within a few years they tried to cheat their way intk the SPL.
Then when they get caught whine about the punishment dished out to them when they were lucky not to be demoted into the third.
Despite not being good enough to win promotion they have the good fortune to be invited in.
So now they moan that they weren't ready for it.
Why didnt they simply refuse promotion and have anothetr go at actually winning the first division.

That would explain our fud voting for them but the other chairman presumeably thought the same.
By the way Green is a bigger fud than our fud..
