David Haigh

Evening all,

Happy New Year to all LUFC fans (old and new!!!).

I had the pleasure of meeting one of our new owners this afternoon in the form of David Haigh. He chatted for a couple of minutes or so to the two of us. I was there with my brother meeting with a member of the commercial team.

He does seem to be getting some good old JA bashing on here and I can understand it through sheer frustration. However having met him I can honestly say he seems a very genuine guy who is dedicated to getting us back to the Premiership! It certainly is a refreshing change compared to Bates who would never give any of us the time of day.

Hopefully I'll get the chance to talk with him some more over the course of this season and of course I will drop in on here to share any info that is not already in the fan domain.

Fair point re Bates type of response.

What do you mean exactly by:

"Change behind the scenes is happening and there will be much more come the end of the season, that has been guaranteed."

Was that something Haigh said?

It wasn't what Haigh said however someone in the commercial team who we have known for a few years now has explained that there have been some changes and these are being phased. Put it this way, people are aware that new personnel are to be brought in and things are being reshaped behind the scenes. It all sounds good though.

otley, don't think you'll see real change till Bates has left the board.

We absolutely must see change then though.

Agree Jonty. I personally can see things changing more when Bates leaves the board come the summer.

Chorley, he didn't seem that 'bugged' out actually. Yes he said that on Twitter but his look was more of a man working hard and doing a lot of travel. His driver looked the part though!

How did he strike you personally, accepting your response will be based only after a brief meeting...? 1st impressions etc..?

Eric, hope you are well!

He was really friendly and warming as a character. He is very well spoken as we all expected however he took an interest in who we are etc. He is a blooming giant and that is coming from me at 6 ft 4!!

otley, he just tweeted he just got to Leeds, I presume you met him elsewhere?

Very well ta. It is good to hear a sensible persons view on the man as opposed to some of the usual tripe put out by folk peddling their own brand of dreariness.

Cheers Eric, I do try my best! I am a regular viewer and not such a regular poster.

Chorley, we met him at about 4pm right inside the East Stand corporate entrance. He'd just arrived and some guy was taking his bags up the elevator when he stopped to chat to us.
