Tom Ince deal likely off

Brendan Rodgers has told Liverpool fans not to expect anymore signings after Daniel Sturridge arrived for £12 million because they don't have the finances in place.

There were wide spread rumours that the Reds would be hoping to bring in teenage sensations Thomas Ince and Jack Butland.

Ince, formerly a Liverpool academy player, has been linked to a £6 million return, but when asked if there had been any progress with the deal Rodgers replied: "No."

He was then asked about Birmingham keeper Butland, who impressed during the summer as Great Britain's No. 1 and was recently said to be the subject of talks with Liverpool by Birmingham acting chairman Peter Pannu.

Rodgers was asked if there was interest in Butland, to which he again replied "No," before adding: "We are not going to have a lot of money to do anything [else] in the window.

"We won't have that in January. There might be another but there is not much more business to be done".

-That is a bit disappointing I would assume from that Liverpool are looking at a loan or free transfer maybe?

Fsg learnt a lot in the summer in terms of waiting till the end to get cheapest purchase. Hence why we bought sturridge so early this window.

Isn't agreeing a fee with the selling club kind of the main part of a deal?

I don't think Sturridge represents the end of our trading for January 2013. JimmyTheRed
