Lets hope that SoD gets his dream job at Wolves.
I just heard on the FA Cup programme tonight that Dean Saunders is their number one choice to replace Stolbakken.
I just hope that doesnt happen.
The club really has to show its mettle here and persuade Deano to see the job through with us this season.
I suppose it is one of the perils of being a small club, the big boys come along and take our best players and in this case - possibly the manager who has revived our fortunes.
Certain contributors on here have said that they didnt think that Deano was the man to get us promoted.
I wonder what their thoughts are now?
Lets hope that SoD gets his dream job......

I have heard it all now there is an article on VSC...........................
Sack Dean Saunders!
Everyone has a right to an opinion but this does sound a little extreme.

I'd also like to see Sean get a crack at the Wolves job. As long as the owner would be prepared to write this season off as a survival season, I'm sure it would be the best appointment for Deano, Wolves and Donny.
Deano is doing a good job here and I think if he goes he will regret not winning promotion while he has the chance. He can then learn about the championship with a team that will be expected to be relegated immediately. In other words, under far less pressure than with a team that you would expect to challenge for promotion.
Sean has seen the championship and delivered teams that have performed well at the level. The sacking of him last month was simply poor decision making as was Wolves' failure to appoint him the last time they had the chance.

Alex
That doesn't surprise me at all especially from what I've read on here in the last few hours. Just strengthens Hounds and Marcs comment about the so called supporters followers of the club what you'd class them as but in that case there not supporters posting that thread their fools!

Well Barnsley certainly wasn't SOD's dream job.
From www.dingle.com
Over the past few days there has been speculation regarding Sean O'Driscoll and the position of first team manager at Barnsley Football Club.
Regarding this Sean O'Driscoll has made the following statement:
"I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to have spoken to Barnsley. In my one meeting with the directors I was keen to ascertain exactly what the short and long term strategies and ambitions of the club are and how I may be able to help the club achieve those. At no point were terms discussed by either party.
"Barnsley is a well-run club whose achievements in successfully maintaining their Championship status for so many seasons should never be underestimated. The directors' commitment to and passion for Barnsley FC impressed me. The directors are understandably keen to make a quick appointment to continue the work of trying to retain the club's Championship status once again. But at this moment, and given the extremely disappointing and sudden nature of my departure from Nottingham Forest, I've respectfully declined the opportunity to become Barnsley's next manager. I wish the club, players and supporters all the best for the rest of the season."
The Board of Barnsley Football Club will continue the process of selecting a permanent first team manager of the Club.

Sorry but no. I believe he also ruled out a return to the Rovers. Barnsley just didn't put it on their site because it doesn't concern them.

And with the type of players we have and football they're playing it would just never work with SOD anyway.
