Daily Mirror reports that our chief scout, Ian Broomfield, was at the Audi Cup match last night to watch Afellay play for Barcelona.
Is it a coincidence that they were playing Internacional of Brazil.
Guess who scored the late equaliser for Internacional? Correct - Leandro Damiao. The same guy we've apparently been interested in all summer.
Anyway, the game went to penalties and it was Damiao who missed for Internacional, then Barca scored to win.
In my opinion Damiao suits our usual type of striker - great in front of goal and will score goals but miss the spot kicks.

Louis Suarez, the guy who scored as many league goals as Jermaine Defoe, in more games, from Jan - May. 4 goals.
People love to talk down our strikers and talk up others.
Similarly many love to accuse Levy of f#~king up in the last transfer window by not buying a striker when Suarez, Dzeko, Torres & Carrol were all bought by others for £135m and together scored less (8) than Defoe & Pav did for SPurs from Jan to the end of the season (9)!
Its getting the right strikers that counts and if we take our time to do that then great. If we take our time and they are duds, then fair enough it open season on HR/Levy/Bloomfield....only fools rush in, uh hu!
