Here is one to throw into the hat. Steve Lomas of St Johnstone a up and coming manager.

Did he not play for N Ire PEG? A bit of a longshot but an ex player doing well in the prem as a no 2 GRAEME JONES at Wigan?

Someone who has done well on very little money could well be the main criterion. If you look at League 2, Mark Yates (of Cheltenham), who was actually with us in the early 90s, could be a runner.
Gary Megson has had mixed fortunes and is not universally popular, but has lots of experience and some thought he was unlucky to get the boot at Wednesday. Jones was one of his recruits there I think so is his type of player and so his playing style may fit the current squad.

Gary Megson's type of player is a loser Donaldo, just like him, if he comes in we will be doomed I tell you doomed.
Another name worth a mention is Steve Nichol, ex Rovers player and successful manager of New England Revolution in the MSL, out of a job so no compensation to pay.

Reports coming out of Rovers that no rushed decision will be made.
New manager will be in place for next HOME game on 19th Jan against Orient.
So we may be in for the long haul wait.
Best of luck to Flynn, who will be supported and assisted by Jonesy.

Lomas installed at 6/1 favorite

Hasn't Lomas been linked with just about every vacant post outside them premiership since mid-season?
I'm getting the impression we have plan B in place (Flynn & Jones) and now we're seeing who's interested, i.e. ask for applications!
Personally I keep changing my mind every 5 minutes about who I'd like to see. Right now I'm kinda going with Nicky Barmby, started off well with Hull until he was sacked, for unknown reasons, other than he fell out with the Chairman over something or other.

Newyankee: I am speculating on who will be chosen, not who I would want. You can identify a group of players with a style and this group is very different from the SOD group. DS could not really work with the SOD squad and so I wonder whether the Baord will want to find someone whose tactical approach will match DS's.
It is interesting to see the speculation about Mark Robins who would have been available when they appointed DS, so it is difficult to see them going for him although he did have a reasonably successful final season at Barnsley and resigned rather than being sacked.
Just read DonnyRed's post and Barmby is another manager apparently harshly sacked, so seems an viable option.

I just get worried when I see Megson's name mentioned Donaldo.

Lanza both Davies and Brown have excellent respected reputations if either came here we'd be a sure bet for promotion.
