Now we are half way through the season, I just want to gauge how we are feeling about which strikers we think should be starting games and which should be used as impact subs. I have made a list of our strikers in order of the ones that should be starting as a lone striker to the ones that should be bench warming and being used as impact subs (including our soon to be new striker Craig Davies). My list is:
N'Gog
Sordell
C Davies
SKD
Eaves
Afobe
What would yours be?

Middle of the park is what we need to own....
----
That's were Spearing and Andrews have massively disappointed. At this level against the poorer teams they have been anonymous. I thought in most games they should be bossing with their pedigree.

But it's difficult because of the number the opposition put in there... I think those guys would be better in the prem in a weird way.. We need to get down and battle.. We clearly as manager, players and fans not been prepared for this league.!! Seems such a long time ago we got 100 points in it

I agree with most and have always been a fan of ball winners in the middle of the park, would always start with two. This done effectivley allows you take control, you can always change formation attacking wise I believe more easily.
Back in the 96 we had a strong middle with Per,Pollock,Sheridan,Thommo,Didsy,Joey,Sellars etc which allowed so much fluency and very rarely did we start especially away games with two wide men.
So for me Spearing,Andrews,Pratley (Holden when fit) Eagles,Lee and SKD.

Eagles n Lee in free roles by the way supporting SKD.
Hope this comment does not mean another vile insult from TRR.

Let me just correct people TRRs insult was far from vile. I have been called worse and at times deserved worse. His comment was an insult and I am sure he was just worked up. He is not bad he was just wrong in my opinion.

Reading fan in pace.
Personally for you lot I'd say either Sordell (very good talent) or Afobe (very good youngster with goals in him). Sordell was dangerous when he played agaunst us last season and is a real handfull but may work better with a strike partner I'm not sure, but if he gets support, he'll be the best in the Championship and Afobe Reading had on loan and started a couple games off the bench a few times and he did some damage to defenses and again, worked well with a strije partner so Sordell and Afobe would be a good paring I think for you Trotters. Afobe helped Le Fondre get 2 goals from off the bench against Southampton so he can score and support a striker as well which Sordell needs. Sordell and Afobe I'd consider most. N'Gog I think should be your super sub/impact sub for you as he creates a different threat with some half decent qualities with long balls to flick or hold up or nod down to and he can also score goals from the bench as he has shown with Liverpool on a number of occasions.
There is my view, hope you all like it.

Sorry lads. I started this debate and was then taken away from it so I've not been able to add to it.
I think that Sordell and N'Gog definitely need some game time and if we look at the rest of this season as preparation for next season's promotion push DF should use these games to try out different pairings and formations.
Petrov, you've defo got it right, but in light of tonight's reserve game and in games from Feb onwards we'll have Mavies and Holden back, so Sordell's starting role is even more under threat.
CYL-HOLDEN-MAVIES-PETROV
N'GOG-SORDEL - this could work as a 4-4-2
or
-ANDREWS - HOLDEN
CYL-MAVIES-PETROV
N'GOG - in a 4-2-3-1
I can't remember (its been that long) where Holden's natural position is. It is exciting if we get all the above back and free from injury.
TONIGHT IS A VERY IMPORTANT NIGHT FOR US WANDERERS!

What has he been doing for the last 12 months?
Sordell said: “I have been working hard at the training ground to make my way back into the team.

Looks like he is getting a little lesson into how to create some good press for himself instead of drawing a negative reaction by bickering with fans on twitter.
This article reeks of the club helping him out of his slump and bad relationship with the Reebok faithful.

Now its official we have signed Cravies,we now have again more attacking options at last.
Now I dont know much about this lad,and for that reason I wont comment on his ability.Although a mate of mine suggests he is quick not super quick but quite lively in and around the box.If thats true maybe we could have play him with SKD and have a similar type partnership Super John n Blakey enjoyed.
Maybe I was expecting too much in this window re signing players even on loan from the top flight teams, but we need some bodies in and quick, they just need to be good enough though and not panic signings.
