I do understand why Chelsea are in the process of acquiring Taison, if reports are true. We need another striker so we have sufficient depth in that position, but said striker must also be versatile in order to prevent the transfer from being virtually redundant, and to bolster the general size of the squad. Therefore, I would not be surprised to see Taison occupy Oscar's role in the front three, and Oscar being subsequently moved to one of the two pivots, until Taison is deployed as a striker (perhaps when there is an injury, suspension or need for rotation).
While I do not have comprehensive knowledge of Taison, he appears to be a capable player, and the transfer would also be economically viable if the actual fee is £11 million.

well why do we moan about having a thin squad then , when buying versatile players is something we don't want?

Because Dream Team we don't have enough specialist personel in the Centre midfield and Centre forward (if you consider Torres a busted flush) positions.
Taison being another AM, come makeshift striker type player, is something we need like Pamela Anderson needs larger breast implants!
