Rumour has it that Chelsea's 19 year old right back Todd Kane will be signing for us on loan for the rest of the season in the next day or so.
Anyone who paid attention to the Rovers' youth team and their cup run last season will recognise him as the exciting full back who helped Chelsea youth beat us in the final, earning much praise in the process.
Kane did join Preston on loan for the season in November but the rumour is that he will be returning from PNE and coming straight to us which, given our sudden lack of talent in the right back position, would be a welcome addition to the squad in my opinion.
So, the questions are thus:
1) What do Rovers fans think of this possible addition?
2) What do Chelsea fans think of this possible addition?
3) What do Chelsea fans think of Kane talent-wise?
4) Should we really be signing players without a manager?
Also, another rumour is that Michael Appleton (Blackpool manager) is now the favourite for the vacant manager's position at Ewood and he, apparently, missed training for Blackpool today. Thoughts?

know nothing about Kane. Experience tells me that loanees from the big 4 are just as likely to be useless as they are good.
Appleton seems unlikely, hasn't he only just joined Blackpool?

Appleton would definitely be a weird one, no idea where it came from.
Also, Bowyer appears to be the one directing transfers right now. I can see him getting the job if he's up for it.

Kane loan confirmed. 1 Month loan so it's an emergency loan for the duration of Henley's injury.

Try to have a little optimism, please. There's no point shelling out on a new right back when Henley will be our first choice.
A loan is the right option.

Good luck to the kid if reports of him signing turn out to be accurate. Agree with SKA that a loan move makes sense in this instance until Henley recovers. Hope the kid is good enough, or perhaps more importantly physically mature enough...but I guess he must have something about him to get a run in Chelsea's youth set up.

Sorry SKA, not a big fan of him. Think he looks good at reserve level thanks to a very high work-rate, and being very tenacious, the type of thing coaches love at that level, but not sure if he has the intelligence yet. He reminds me of Conor Clifford.
