How can someone with such talent become so spectacularly bad?

I mean, it has now reached the point where we can't call this form - this has been several years of poor performance. He just looks such a poor player.

Chelsea only have themselves to blame - he was in a period of 'bad form' for Liverpool, so they went and spent an absolute fortune on him. Hardly one for the business school textbooks.
