And it starts?

Rather than taking cheap shots at each others clubs perhaps if supporters really did come together as one then the football clubs would have to do something about it.The away supporter is treated very shabbily in this country, fleeced by football clubs, airlines & rail networks all hike up prices when the top sides are coming and it needs addressing.
I realise the likes of Utd & Liverpool have been treated differently for years but if something isn't done then we will have football grounds full of corporate and tourists only too happy to pay what the real supporters can't.
Start of a bandwagon?

So if Gervinho demands wage parity with Aguero you feel obliged to cough up?

I mean there isn't one rumour of a big club sniffing around Theo Walcott; no one appears to be interested in signing him; yet still he appears to be 'holding the club to ransom' over a new contract.
----------------------------
Apparently no one wanted RVP either until he became available. Chelsea and Man City have both made enquires for Walcott. In fact Walcott will be the first player for 3/4 years who would be kept in spite of the demand.
The issue actually is worse than you think. Who do you think leaked the Fellaini buy-out figure? Everton need to sell to fund their transfer budget. Their revenue is barely sufficient to maintain their wages budget which is why they will suffer under FFP.
All clubs below Man City/Chelsea need to sell to survive. Man Utd are able to keep players and have a budget of about £30m a year though that will probably be coming to an end soon. Spurs are a special cause because they are also backed by a billionaire. But they are more interested in establishing revenue for stadium expansion. So they are investing to do that.
There is a particular issue at Arsenal because we adopted an unworkable wage structure. However the point made that Chelsea and Man City have created wage price inflation that is very detrimental to football is undeniable.

Thought it was only Liverpool who were in for Walcott?

Go back 4 years and there were seasoned pros at about 16 PL clubs who would have dreamed about being on the wages as 21 year old Arsenal squad players.

Chelsea made serious attempts last Jan knowing that he had 18 months left and even offered Sturridge as part of the deal. In fact they have been trying for years because they were the ones who lost out when we got him from Southampton.
Man City tried in Aug and stopped their deal for Sinclair to do it.
But because Walcott has always said he wants to stay makes it very difficult for clubs to make an approach for a contracted player. Thats why I talk of becoming available.

I'm not convinced.
First of all, in recent years every club outside of City, United and Chelsea have had to sell players as part of their finance strategy.
Hence there's nothing unusual about a club of Everton's (big club) stature selling players to stay in the black.
Secondly I don't think Arsenal's seriously high wage structure (for the quality of players) has anything to do with City or Chelsea. It is merely down to the fact that Wenger and his staff have made several serious misjudgments on the quality of the players Arsenal have signed.
The truth is while City and other clubs have signed many of your best players with the attraction of higher wages; the reason Arsenal pay so much out in wages, is that the club overpays mediocre players, who wouldn't get paid that kind of money at any other club.
This is the fault of poor management and poor management alone x
